About me and my interests:
My life revolves around Casa Salsa!. I am graphic designer and a professional salsa dancer, member of one the best recognized salsa school from Cali and I currently work with hostels and companies as Salsa Instructor.
I'm outgoing and cheerful guy, I love going out to have fun very often so it's nice when one of my guest are able to make me company. I really enjoy seeing my guests being confident to have lots of fun practicing salsa steps at a party.
The house is in the perfect location and Wilbur is a gracious host. The accommodations are more like (website hidden) than airbnb, but I was happy to have a place to stay in Cali.
Private Room and Salsa
Good place to stay at a good price. The historic neighborhood of San Antonio is really nice as well.
I came to Cali will the intentions of staying a month and now I am going on my 5th! If your looking to see the real side of Colombia and learn the different cultures here the Cali is the city to be. Its mix of Spanish, Indigenous and African culture is both interesting and beautiful. I love it here and being in Medellin for a Month before coming here I can say I felt more in Colombia and learned alot more about this country and its culture being in Cali. Wiber, the head honcho of the Casa, is a sweetheart! he goes out of his way to make you feel at home and once you get to know him youll find him hilarious. Hes very geuine and caring to everybodys needs and questions. He also offers salsa classes as he is a proffesional salsa dancer. I am not a salsa man myself but I have watched him teach over the past 4 months and I can say hes fun but also serious and passionate about what hes doing because he wants you to learn. The house is nice and cozy. 4 bedrooms downstairs and 1 upstairs on the roof. The kitchen is perfect for cooking and preparing all your own meals has all the utensils and a 4 burner gas stove. Bathroom has hot water shower. The neighborhood is extremly unique and stands out the most of any neighborhood in Cali. San Antionio has the old Colonial style houses with the church and park right in the midst of all this. From friday to sunday the park and church is full of Colombian familys, street venders, food venders and live shows. People gather at the park to socialize and watch shows. Beautiful atmosphere and gives you a deep feel of the strong family bond in this country. Once you get settled in here the neighbors will start saying hi to you as you pass and if your friendly will spark a conversation with you. Your surrounded by super nice Colombian familys on both sides of the place so its really easy to feel comfortable here. Your also in a great location close to everything from Intercontinental Hotel and Casino, to great restaurants and night life. Everything is within walking distance or at most a 4 $ taxi ride away. Also El Centro is a 5 minute walk from San Antonio. This is the downtown of Cali full of stores, super markets, street venders you name it they have it! This place is the best deal in town and the most confortable. Grasiela is extremly nice and goes out of her way to explain and help people get here. And once your here and if she is here visiting and you need anything she is always there to do what she can. My experience here was amazing and would recommend this place to anybody traveling this way!
Have been taking salsa classes form Graciela and Wilbur now pretty much daily (just finished class #7) and can't believe the progress I have made. If you want a systematic step by step approach and serious about progressing fast in as short a possible time possible, I highly recomend you book at least 20 hours with them, you won't regret it.
