We love life and try to live life in it's fullest. Historian, lawyer, artist and photographer, that's what we do at the moment. We enjoy long tables, with friends, good food and wine.
Me and my boyfriend stayed at Janne & Peter's apartment for 24 days and it was just perfect. The apartment is great, everything is very well kept and clean and we just loved the clean decor. The location of the apartment is also great: stores, restaurantes, cafés, all walking distance.
Janne & Peter were specially nice. There was a very thoughtful basket of goodies and since it was holiday time, we even had a little xmas tree waiting for us when we arrived. They were always available when I had questions and made us a map of the proximities with a bunch of info and great tips.
We definitely recommend Janne&Peter's place to anyone going to Amsterdam and hopefully will be staying there again very soon. Hopefully during summer or spring to enjoy even more the wonderful view from the huge living room windows!
My son and I loved staying at Janne and Peter's beautiful apartment.!!!!!! It was everything it seemed, light, airy, with a wonderful view of a park, and instant access to anywhere you wanted to go - by anyway you wanted to get there. The wifi was flawless.... The apartment was perfect. Clean, great kitchen..... And wonderful peacefulness at night, in a perfect neighborhood. The store was very close by, as were a number of great restaurants. We were out and about on our bikes every day, and it was the perfect place to come home to everynight. We plan on returning and seeing if we can stay there again.
Peter was there to help us with the "dutch stairs" when we arrived. By the end of our visit, - those stairs were easy. If we had needed anything, it would have been easy to reach them, but we required nothing during our two weeks. Thank you for opening your place to us - we will be back.
Great apartment, bright, spacious and beautiful. Located in a very nice area of Amsterdam close to the action. Well connected by public transport or a leisurely 30min walk to the centre. Jann was very friendly and easy to communicate with. Hope to stay here again!
I only spoke with Janne (not Peter) in person and correspondence, and she was really friendly and helpful with noting places of interest and arranging a time to meet.
The apartment was exactly how it was advertised, and was in pleasant neighborhood where you could easily catch trams and buses to go to other areas of the city. If you wanted to walk, you could also easily get to grocery stores and restaurants with a 10-15 minute stroll. The apartment is on the third floor, and there are very steep Dutch stairs leading up to it. I managed it easily, but it could pose an obstacle for someone who might have knee issues. The view once climbed is really pretty overlooking a park. I will say that you should have either Janne or Peter give you a lowdown on how the door unlocks. My boyfriend became the official door unlocker because for the life of me I couldn't get the key to unlock the apartment door. It may have just been me, but to be certain, just have them give you a demonstration.
I would definitely book this apartment again on any future trips to Amsterdam.
Oh, and if you like lasagna, visit the restaurant right down the street on the corner from the apartment named Lazagne. It's REALLY good, and the owner is nice.
Many thanks to Janne & P. Their apartment is just as described; very clean and well furnished with great windows overlooking the park. The location is fantastic as its at the edge of the Jordaan. Here you are away from the tourist activity but close enough to walk to most of it. Renting a bike is a must as its the best way to see the city. Bike City will hook you up as J&P recommended. Vondal park is perfect for a jog/ride. Will be recommending J&P's to friends and family.
This was our first time in Amsterdam and we were staying in the Janne's apartment. It was all wonderful. We loved the city. The aparatamento is perfect, well furnished, just like the pictures, very well located, the neighborhood is great, quiet but with several bars and restaurants nearby. Janne is magnificent hosts and giving us several tips. Thanks and until next. We recommend
Excellent location, easy to reach from the central station and a great base for visiting the city.
The apartment was very clean and comfortable with great decor. Janne and P provided all of the essentials and left us a tasty breakfast on arrival.
We used the kitchen for breakfast and a few evening meals though the surrounding area of Jordaan had great restaurants which aren't too expensive.
This is a great place to stay for exploring the city by bike or on foot, we would highly recommend this appartment and may there ourselves!
Janne and P.'s apartment in the Jordan was our first experience with Airbnb. What a great start! They are a very friendly and helpful couple and the apartment is clean, bright and comfortable. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and the panoramic windows overlook magnificent trees in the park across the street. Transportation, restaurants, shops, local markets are all within walking distance. We also appreciated the "little extras" Janne and P. provided, such as a bowl of fresh fruits and chocolate, the fridge stocked with all the fixings for breakfast and a variety of literature about Amsterdam, including a "Rick Steeve's guide book; nice touch. We should mention the typical steep and narrow stairways leading to the apartment on the fourth floor - could be an issue for some people. We got used to them and the apartment is well worth the effort. Highly recommended.
We loved staying at Janne and Peter's apartment.
Before we got to Amsterdam, Janne was gracious and offered us help in preparing our trip via email correspondence.
She asked us what would we like to do and suggested relevant information.
In addition, Janne helped us with some questions of our own when we planned our trip.
The apartment is located at a peaceful location about 20 minutes walk from the old city center of Amsterdam.
When we arrived, Janne had welcomed us with refreshments after our long flight which was very king of her.
She prepared a guide book with nearby supermarkets, restaurants, clubs and bars and some tips on how to get around Amsterdam with public transportation, and more.
The apartment was equipped with everything we needed for a cozy and relaxing stay.
The apartment was clean and neatly organized.
We kept corresponding via email while we were at the apartment and we told Janne of our experience touring the city, what we recommend and where we visited. Janne kept sending us tips and answering our (few but important) questions.
We loved our trip to Amsterdam and feel very happy that we chose Janne and Peter's apartment.
Janne, thank you for your kindness and thoughtfulness.

Response from Janne&P:
Thank you so much for this kind review. I really hope to welcome you again&show you around in the new Rijksmuseum and the new Stedelijk Museum (opened yesterday). It felt so comfortable having you in the apartment. Best, Janne
Me and my friend stayed in Janne&P Renout apartment for a week. That was amazing experience. Apartment had everything you may need and even more. Before our trip Janne was really kind to send all the information about how we can get to apartrment and about neighbourhood. And when we arrived Janne met us to show around and it was so sweet to see welcome breakfast on the table!
Our favourite place in apartment was living room with huge windows and green trees outside.
Jordaan is lovely district and from there we easily walked to the center. There was no need to take a bus or train. I will deffinately recommend this apartment to all my friends who plan to go to Amsterdam!
Actually we started off as their neighbours, just 3 floors down, on the same wonderful spot, in a similar apartment. Soon we were going up and down the stairs: enjoying great meals and drinks together, talking about everything we shared love for: art, photography, again food, or simply life. Needing help or advice we could always knock on their door. Nowadays no longer our neighbours but still very dear friends. Still meeting up sometimes in this apartment, where it all began, with the magnificent view over the trees, almost touching the sky, having whole Amsterdam at your feet...
I remember when P bought the apartment. It was just totally renovated: new kitchen, new bathroom, cv, and thick concrete walls and floors. That was about 6 years ago. And it still looks the same. I stayed there in 2011 when on holiday from SA. It is a great central place. Busses and trams around the corner, or just walk 5 minutes and you are in the Jordaan, or at the supermarket. Janne and P were lucky to get a beautiful second apartment just outside Amsterdam, but the fact that they don't want to give up this great space, says how much they care about it. You'll see why. Enjoy!
