I like to laugh. I delight in meeting other people and I love good food & drink, good stories and good weather so I can be out in it, hiking with friends, walking or (website hidden) is fun when I'm inspired and eating out is a treat, too. Especially if a night of dancing is involved. I love travel and have lived all over the world. I am curious about other cultures and enjoy meeting people and learning about their experiences in life. I have a soft spot for animals of all kinds and have rescued and raised or rehabilitated donkeys, dogs and cats. I currently care for a lovely rescued cat. I"ve lived in the city in a loft and on a farm in the country. I enjoyed both. I think the ideal scenario would be to have a creative project that enabled one to live three months to six months in say, NYC or Paris or something and return to ones small farm in between!
I am a 33 year member of the SGI, a Buddhist lay organization that promotes peace, culture and education in 192 countries throughout the world. I only mention it because, if you're a member, you'll be welcome to join us while you're here. If not, please don't worry, Buddhists are very nice, respectful people!
As your host, I'll engage as much or as little as you prefer and will share as much info as I can to help you maximize your enjoyment of our beautiful little corner of the world. When I travel, I like to get to know the local area so I tend to go for a month or three and really experience what it's like to LIVE some where else.
I've loved living in Beirut, Lebanon; Amman, Jordan; Kathmandu, Nepal; Jylland, Denmark; Yorkshire, England; Santa Barbara, California; Boulder, Colorado; and Los Angeles. I long to visit South America, Australia, Africa, China and Russia. They're all on my 'bucket list'.
I am excited about this new form of travel for people and look forward to providing a comfortable place for your stay in our area. Airbnb suggested I offer my favorite motto so here, 'tis...It's a lyric from a song by Jewel. 'In the end, only kindness matters.' That covers it for me.
