Response from Remi:
I am very surprised by your comment. Five days ago you had a different point of view, you said you were delighted with the apartment.
First, you knew very well about the apartment’s locations because you took the time to visit it BEFORE proceeding with the reservation and knew very well whether the place was well suited to your needs. I have received many messages from people who had to visit places in the North of Cali. Every time, I have been honest with them and recommended that they look for a place better suited for their needs. My apartment is located in Valle del Lili, as advertised in the description. Why did you choose my apartment if you wanted to be in the North? You came to visit the apartment personally prior to reserving it!
It is true that there is a construction site closeby, but I am currently in my apartment for vacations and have no issue sleeping in the morning. The shades are opaque (as suggested by a prior guest) and block the sun completely.
On the other hand, Airbnb retained the deposit of $150 (not $200 as you claim). Tatiana did the check-in carefully with you personally and you know perfectly well that the couch was in good condition, as was the rest of my apartment. I am currently on vacation in Cali and planned on receiving the apartment myself on Sunday, had you not coincidentally decided to leave earlier than agreed, avoiding the check-out. When I arrived at the apartment with Tatiana, what I found was not pretty (marks, scratches and stains on the walls, scratched chairs and a damaged couch). You should be thankful that I didn’t claim the brand new “Eames” chairs (85€ each) that were covered with scratches.
It is not Tatiana who takes the money from you, it is Airbnb. On the contrary, Tatiana was extremely helpful to you by showing you the apartment personally BEFORE your reservation. Furthermore, she arranged for you to have access to the social room to receive your friends (a privilege reserved to residents only and not for visitors). She even called you during your stay to check if everything was going well and you said you were extremely satisfied.
Finally, I think that your message is an act of bad faith because you hoped that I would let go and say nothing of the way you treated my apartment. It is very disappointing to have to deal with this kind of situation. I never imagined that there were people able to exhibit such a lack of respect for other people’s belonging. You are not the first person to visit my apartment, but you are the first to leave it in a bad condition. I have visited other apartments through Airbnb and was always very respectful, so I expect people interested in my apartment to be respectful of mine.
