Ciao! I'm an Italian guy that lives in Hawaii.... peaceful, respectful, and quiet person. I love the ocean and nature.
We loved staying in Paia! Manolo's place was charming! Manolo was a great host and we enjoyed chatting with him at check in. The studio is clean and smells great! The town of Paia is small but full of spirit and character. Make sure you go to Anthony's coffee and get several bags of the Kona Blend to bring home! I only got one and now Im wishing I had grabbed a second one!
My family stayed in Manolo's apartment in Paia recently for ten days and it was wonderful! The apartment was gorgeous and spacious with a beautiful full kitchen.. it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and became our home away from home! The host is super generous and accommodating if we needed anything. The location is prime, just a short walk into Paia and Baldwin beach, one of the most beautiful beaches on Maui. Paia town itself is full of restaurants and has the best health foods store, Mana Foods. We loved staying here and will definitely return on the next trip to Maui! Mahalo Manolo!
Manolo was very nice an accommodating to us. He took the time to talk to us and make sure we had everything we needed. It was a great place as well. Everything was clean and in order.
Great location - its an easy walk to the main blocks of Paia. The place itself is cozy but adequate for a couple.
Great location! Clean, comfortable room. I definitely recommend staying here..
Manolo is a very welcoming, attentive and charming host who did everything to make both the preparation for my visit, and then my actual stay, as comfortable, easy and affordable as possible.
Manolo was very generous with his help prior to my arrival, making recommendations from everything from the best place to hire a car, to where to attend yoga classes, and all of his tips were spot on, allowing me to have a truly local and relaxing holiday.
Manolo's studio is spacious, super clean, and comfortable, and has everything one may need, whether you plan to spend a little, or a lot of time, at the property. The property is well located with a short and easy stroll to the heart of Paia and it's extremely private and secure.
Having visited Maui before, this was my first time staying in Paia, but I would highly recommend it as a central, authentic and sweet little town with a beautiful beach (baby beach in particular) and great cafes and restaurants.
Manolo makes himself available to his guests at all hours of the day and night, but respects their privacy and space. He is a wonderful host and I look forward to returning to Paia and Manolo's lovely property again soon.
Manolo is very welcoming and happy to provide local information and eating recommendations to suit your needs.
The studio is in a perfect location in that it's only a 5 minute walk down the road to all the excellent restaurants, boutiques and shops in Paia. Studio is spacious and reasonably well equipped. We stayed for 5 nights and had no intention of cooking dinner as we ate in restaurants in Paia every evening, however if you intended to cook dinner the range of equipment is limited to a portable two ring hob and a small grill. There was no hair dryer in the studio.
The soundproofing in the building is poor in that we could here Manolo and family talking in their accommodation above the studio. There is also traffic noise from the very busy road outside - this noise starts at around 6am and goes on till around midnight making getting off to sleep difficult and then you are woken up early in the morning.
When we checked into the studio we noticed a very strong chemical odour which was particularly bad in the bathroom. My wife suffers from asthma and this odour aggravated it to the extent that she neded to use her inhaler frequently whilst in the studio. We kept the windows open in both main room and bathroom as much as possible ( traffic noise meant you could not leave them open during night) to ventilate the room and after a couple of days the odour had dispersed a bit. We think some strong chemical agent had been put down the bathroom drains, however, on our fourth night in the studio we returned from dinner in town to find the bathroom and main room infested with tiny bugs (very like fleas) - they were everywhere and we had no idea where these bug/ fleas had come from but suspect the drains. It took us a couple of hours to get rid of them. For the remainder of our stay we closed all the sink and washbasin drains and tightly covered over the drain hole in the shower and this seemed to stop the bugs/fleas getting in.
My wife and I stayed at Manolo's wonderful house in Maui for several nights, and we can recommend it to anyone who wishes to stay in Paia, or Maui's north shore area.
The kitchen is well appointed, and the beds are comfortable. For those who wish to relax outside, there are several beautiful trees which offer shade for the Lanai. The property offers a little peace and quite, while remaining a short walk to Paia's downtown.
Monolo himself is an absolutely superb host, both friendly and knowledgeable. Should you find anything lacking, he will do his best to fix the situation and make sure your holiday is relaxing and enjoyable.

My fiancé and I loved staying in Manolo's studio!!!! It was clean, had all the cooking essentials we needed, extra towels, the bed was comfortable, cable tv, washer and dryer on the premises for free and we had our own private bathroom. Parking on the street was so easy. The room has no air conditioning, but it is not needed, we left the ceiling fan on and left the windows open at night, it felt so good. Manolo lives on the second floor of the house, if we needed anything he could have helped us right away, but everything was perfect. I knew he was kind through our email exchanges, and he is just as kind in person, very warm and welcoming. This was our first time staying at a place listed on airbandb and it was the best experience!!!! We would definitely stay at Manolo's studio again, we are already thinking about our next trip to Maui;)!!!
I would highly recommend staying at this studio if you want to live, play, and eat like a local. His studio is a 10 minute walk to lots of restaurants, shops, a kick-ass grocery store called Mana Foods and a beautiful beach. Lots of people around at all hours, so it feels safe. The first day we arrived, we went to walmart by the airport for essentials(extra tp, paper towels, sunscreen), beach towels, aqua shoes for rough and wet parts of hikes, and then we went to Mana foods so we could have healthy snacks and healthy breakfast food during our stay. Truly a wonderful way to experience the town of Paia, which, in my opinion is the town that sums up life in Hawaii. From Paia, you can travel to other towns, such a great central location:)!!!
nice apartment, nice masters, the paia beach is not fit to the beginner that the only advice to others, and we like the town and manowao.
