Hi! My name is Amari. I've lived in New Orleans now for over three years. Once upon a time, I traveled across the country in a Honda Civic Hybrid from Portland, OR (where I used to live for 3.5 years), down the West Coast, through the desert and Southwest, all the way to South Florida. During my 3 month journey I stopped in a little city called New Orleans (you may have heard of it), which grabbed my soul and seduced me into moving to her (yes, this city is a lady).
I'm not the only person that has had this happen to them- this is a common story here in New Orleans.
Hey- it could happen to you!
Moving to New Orleans is one of the best decisions I've ever made. I've had the most amazing times during Carnival Season(Mardi Gras), Halloween, Jazzfest, a Wednesday. Life is exciting and fun here, not to mention all the lovely people you can meet, and befriend.
The vibrant soul of this city is alive, the culture and history so rich and diverse. There is not a dull moment living in New Orleans. There's always something to do. I would love to share my city and my home with you, so you can experience this magnificent place for yourself!
I love hosting Airbnb guests, and have been doing so now since April 2012. I love meeting fellow travelers and showing them around New Orleans.
I currently live with my five cats (Random, Nymeria, Nischal, Fauchard and Pony-Rabbit) and boyfriend, Hans. We are late night people, we wake up as the sun is going down and we live our lives mostly at night, some may call us vampires, but we're not into drinking blood- but we do love 24 hour restaurants and bars!
