Rented this house for the holiday weekend (Friday through Sunday) with a few other couples for a college reunion ski trip. The house was awesome and had plenty of space for all of us. It was very clean and had most of the amenities you could need. We brought plenty of food with us and a few extra kitchen utensils (although the house had most cooking utensils you would need as well as a stock of the basic condiments). There is a dishwasher, but we also brought paper plates, disposable utensils and cups which made clean up much easier. The house was cold when we first arrived but heated up rather quickly, especially once we got the fire going. Speaking of the fireplace, we did have to get our own firewood (because the person who normally delivers it hadn't been able to make it to the house for a couple of weeks per Caitlin & Mik) which was a bit of a pain but the store was only a short drive from the house so it wasn't too bad. We skied/snowboarded at Shawnee which was only about a 20 minute drive from the house. Lastly, Mik and Caitlin were great hosts and responded to any and all of our questions via text message immediately. We had an amazing weekend at the house and would recommend it to anyone. We will definitely be making this an annual trip and heading back next year!
Mik's place was fantastic. It was our first time at the Poconos and, not wanting to stay at a hotel, we decided to rent a house. It was the best decision we made. The house was clean, warm, and cozy in a private neighborhood. The open layout floor plan was great, not to mention a gorgeous fireplace. The location was not too far from Camelback, where we skiid, and a Foodtown supermarket was a few miles down on Route 209. There were also a few restaurants down 209. The only issue was the lack of cookware and utensils: no spatula, tongs. Aside from this, Mik's place was great. We felt at home all weekend. We would definitely stay there again.
We had a great stay at Catilin and Mik's place. It is just as they described which is a good place to start; Modern decor and a 'clean' look - and the photos don't do it justice! They were a bit slow to send the lease out but apart from that, communication was quick and helpful, responding to our questions promptly. We skied at Camelback from there - around 40 minutes away, which is pretty good. Take all the food you need with you as you are 'up the mountain' so a way from the nearest shops- about 5/6 miles. The house was well equipped - sheets, towels cooking pans, and the home theater system was brilliant. We would use their place again. Thank you!
Just spent the weekend at Mik's place and just amazed at how nice the place was,so clean and cozy with lots of space for 6 adults to relax. Overall my weekend with 5 others was just perfect and had such a great time oh and would love to go back for our winter ski trips.
This was are second stay in the Poconos but our first at Caitlin/Mik's house. We were pleasantly surprised out how nice their place was. The open layout is perfect for a small group of friends and the 3 bedroom 2 bathroom setup is perfect. The heated floor in the master bathroom was a treat. My only suggestion for the place would be to have more cooking utensils. There was no spatula which is pretty much a necessity, for making breakfast. Other than that the house was excellent. We plan plan to come back in the spring.
Almost forgot, Mik was always quick to answer any questions we had. It's nice to have such a responsive host. Thanks again Mik!
Such a great place! Caitlin and Mik were very responsive and made sure we had everything we needed. Would love to stay there again! The house was just perfect!
Caitlin and Mik were very responsible, nice, and answered all of my questions quickly and kindly. The space is great, but as other reviewers have said, very understocked. We had to purchase our own toilet paper, paper towels, and dishwasher soap. Only bath towels are included; no washcloths or hand towels were provided. Also, the bathroom sink on the top floor was broken and unusable during our stay. I understand that these things happen, but I wish that Caitlin and Mik had informed us of this before our stay as a courtesy.
This is a quaint and sustainably designed home (ikea'd out) set in the middle of a quiet complex in Bushkill. The home is lovely as are the immediate surroundings. We rode our bike in the complex and had plenty of outdoor activities and decent restaurant options nearby. Highly recommend for people looking to escape city madness for the weekend or longer. Mik and Caitlin were easy to get a hold of and very responsive.
it was really a wonderful house to live in , thank you Caitlin \Mik
This is an excellent place to stay with friends for the weekend. The living room/kitchen is very spacious and great for hanging out. The location is great for driving to nearby activities. Very clean and the owner are accommodating. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Mik y su familia fueron personas muy educadas, llegaron a nuestra casa en Cuenca , nos agrado que pudimos compartir con todos , incluido los niños, no tuvimos problemas ...esperamos volver a verlos pronto
