sono un tecnico delle macchine per la produzione del vino, ed insieme a mia moglie abbiamo iniziato questa attività. mi piace vivere all'aria aperta ed adoro la nostra campagnia.
Overall, the place did not meet our expectations. The house is well situated, in close proximity to the town of San Gimignano and a short driving distance to Volterra. With a car, you can easily visit a number of major sites in a day trip, including Florence and Pisa.
However, there were several drawbacks that made our stay less enjoyable:
Internet is practically non-existent. Signal is weak at best and most of the time there was no signal at all.
Lack of basic necessities such as hand soup, detergent, paper towels etc. I’ve stayed in many places booked through Airbnb all over the world and always found that hosts provide some essentials at least for the first few days of comfortable stay. Unfortunately, was not the case here.
The place was hard to find on the first night as there was no street address to input in our GPS. While we were trying to find the location, the hosts send us a text message informing us that they would shut the phone off in 15 minutes if we don’t show up at the house. This attitude was surprising as we had previously agreed to a late arrival.
The level of responsiveness during our stay was good and both Massimo and his wife have checked up and arrived quickly if needed to adjust heating or turn on the hot water.
Despite the convenient location, would not be considering this place again.
Great home in a little Agritourism town.
Very charming and picturesque.
If your bring supplies and you can hunker down and enjoy the Tuscan rolling hills. Very close to San Gimignano (if u have a car).
We arrived late at night which made finding the little town a bit harder. Get detailed instructions before attempting the drive. Very friendly hosts guided us by phone and even met us part way and led us to our home for the night.
Pellet stove was cozy at night. Allow yourself some time to enjoy the area!
This was a highlight of our time in Tuscany... Even if it was just one night.
Clean, comfortable and a great location! They were very friendly, helpful and even let us use the laundry! Great place to stay!
Massimo was a really nice guy and checking in was easy. It was a nice room and I enjoyed my stay in San Gimignano.
Clean and stylish apartment, in the center of tourism. Free/paid parking very closeby. Host was very helpful. Wish we could have stayed longer.
The apartment was beautifully futnished and had à nice central location. The bed were very comfortable, all in all, everything was great!
Only stayed one night, No complaints. very clean and tidy (most important criteria for me). Was hard to get wifi signal...but that seems to be a problem in a lot of places I've stayed in Italy. Breakfast is provided in a bar up the road (at a discounted price) so breakfast is not included in the price.
This is a nice set of rooms inside the old city but close to the walls on a busy street with moped and car traffic during the day.
Our room was comfortable, but tiny. It had a miniscule window facing the street and a Skylight that opened slightly. The roof was low and I bumped my head against a beam every time I got up from bed. The kitchen was clean, easy to use. Overall, the facilities were clean, and as advertised, no surprises there.
Parking for free was maneuvered by Massijmo who showed us where to park; we only had to walk 300 meters back. We were able to bring our car to the property, unload, and then park.
We did not have much interaction with Massimo or his girlfriend (who answered the phone); it would have been nicer to get some better advice from him regarding restaurants and places to go. He scribbled restaurants on a map (which he gave us), hut we were unable to find any of it. He seemed in a real hurry every time we saw him. Finding the place was hard, but it would have been very easy to provide directions on the web site. As it was, I had to call several times (each one an international call for me at $1.99 x minute) to get simple directions I could have obtained from a web site: “go to parking lot 3 or 4 and then follow your GPS”.
The reason for the 3 rating is the lack of interaction, the confusion in finding the place, and the overall crammed feeling of the quarters.
This place was fantastic. Right in the center of San Gimignano! Easy walking to anywhere in this beautiful town. The room was big, much bigger than expected, with a large, comfortable bed. There was a TV and private bath/shower too. I would definitely recommend and will definitely stay here again if I return to San Gimignano!
very lovely flat. Great place and location. Has everything you need. Massimo is a very nice host. He also gave us cool tips on where to go and eat in San Gimignano.
