The two highlights were the wonderful Alwyn and Debra and the magnificent view. Both wow.
The nadir was the steps up to the house, especially with bags, cases or heavy shopping.
Despite the latter caveat we thoroughly enjoyed our 1 week stay. Debra's home cooking of local dishes, as ruined our waistline and Alwyn spoiled us, With fresh fruit, we have mangoes coming out of our ears. A&D took us on a day tour to Dark View Falls; the water was very powerful on my back. A also organised our rental car with Greg taking me into Kingstown and the police station to get a local, (expensive, local licence, EC 65).
Andy, who owns the bar down the road, took us beginners snorkelling. he was a good guide and gentle tutor. His beer and fried fish are also excellent.
We found the other local bay, bamberaux, excellent for snorkelling, your only need to go 10 metres into the water and you have a great array of fish to spot. We never saw anyone else on this beach, it's a 15 min walk or a 5 min drive. I'm lazy and had a rental car.
May ancient crumbling knees do not appreciate steep hills so a rental car was ideal, it also helped us explore places like Montreal Gardens, a wow place and highlight.
The house is as described. Thank you Alana for letting us share it
We had a lovely stay in this comfortable home with a stunning sea view. The quiet location outside the village of Layou was very relaxing and down the road was a great beach for swimming and snorkelling which we mostly had just to ourselves. Alwyn kindly met our flight and Debra was on hand next door if we needed anything and was very generous with her delicious baking. Greggs car hire were very helpful and know the location of the house which is useful. The bar just down the road is great for a beer and a game of dominos. Our favourite place to eat was VJ's in Kingstown for genuine St Vincent home cooking.
When I first saw the pictures on the site I told my husband that we had to book it. So we did! We spend 1 week at Millers ocean view villa and the stay were absolutely amazing. It was just like we expected or even better. The care taker (neighbor) Debra made us feel like home right away and you got to try the guava jam that they make! So delicious! It was close to the beach (around 5 min to both of them) and the house is just beautiful and it got all the equipment that you need. Wifi in the house was great after a long day out and the breathtaking view was just top notch. Bambareaux is 30 minutes away from Kingstown with a van, be sure that you got enough time because sometimes the vans is packed so you have to wait long to get one. Ozzie that picked us up at the airport bring us out on an island tour to see the Pirates of Caribbean set, the volcano La Soufrière, the water fall at Dark view falls and just amazing nature. So if you want to go somewhere on the island ask for Ozzie he's just great!
I really recommend to stay at Millerś ocean view villa I'm sure you would love it as much as we did.
really worth the money. great view and everything you need is in the apartment. good location about 30minutes from kingstown. we used the vans, rent a car if you want to explore more.
also have to mention the neighbors, they helped us a lot, took us to places and prepared local food. be sure to try their home made juices.
We were met on arrival at the house by Mrs. Simmons ( Care taker ) who gave us a warm welcome and made us feel at home right away. There was a welcoming drink of mauby awaiting us in the fridge and some ripe SVG bananas. Also some guava jelly, hot pepper sauce and seasoning from her manufacturing company.
We had chosen the house to be our accommodation based on the pictures and info. on the web site, and we were not disappointed .
It was as seen on the internet , and was really a home away from home.
Having internet access while you are on holiday is a necessity today, and this was readily available.
The house was very comfortable. The view of the village, the ocean and on a clear day some of the Grenadine Islands from the decks and balcony was FANTASTIC.
Apart from a couple days when it rained , we Enjoyed our 6 day stay in St.Vincent . Having a rental SUV also contributed to this.
This house is a NICE place to stay when visiting St.Vincent.
I must also say that the host Alana was very professional , helpful and efficient in making sure that everything was in place to make our holiday a Happy and Comfortable one.

We sit upon the deck listening to the dripping rain after the early morning shower. The bottom deck is where we sit on the lounge chairs enjoying the view out over the bay and the small fishing village. Earlier in the day we took a swim on the black sand beach after a stroll along the shore greeted by locals and two girls cleaning out fresh fish to sell. The day before we spent touring the island from the Botanical Garden to the resort at Young Island, the spring near where Pirates of the Caribbean was filmed, to the petroglyphs and beyond. Alwyn and Debra (our neighbors) greeted us at the airport and spoiled us rotten ever since. From the tour to dinners to being there for anything we needed, they are the ultimate Saint Vincent friend and way to see the island (tours and food are an additional charge - but ask about a driver and a package deal - they will take care of you! You will love it!) The house itself has a beautiful patio on the top as well as below to view the bay. The two bedrooms, downstairs space, peacefulness of the area, and access to the internet made the house a pleasant place to relax after a long day of tours. I highly recommend asking for Debra and Alwyn to tour you so that you can get a true feel of the Saint Vincent people, culture, and food (they are both amazing cooks - and even have their own company - A&D seasonings, hot sauce, and jams! Our bags and stomachs were stuffed after 3 days with them). Enjoy your trip to Saint Vicent! It (and Alwyn and Debra) will always remain dear to our hearts! Thank you!
This stay was (website hidden) Vincent, and the village of Layou, welcomed us with open arms and captured our hearts. The house in Bambareaux left us wanting more, and wishing we had stayed after we departed.
The house is well equipped and very comfortable. Well suited to families, couples or groups of friends. The view is out of this world and the beaches are just a couple minutes walk. The people of the village, especially the house managers, are absolutely fantastic and make you feel at home.
Visit St Vincent, and stay in the Bambareaux home...it won't disappoint.
