Someone said that nobody cares if you are miserable so you might as well be happy. I try to take note of that and one of the things that make me happy is travelling. I have travelled extensively and I have also lived in several countries. I´m also lucky that due to my work (Assistant Professor at Reykjavik University), I get to travel to many interesting countries.
Another thing that sustains my happiness level is reading a good book. My favourite book is by our Icelandic Nobel prize laureate Halldór Laxness, Sjálfstætt fólk (Independent People). Tolken is also a favourite of mine. Lastly, I believe that good physical fitness is paramount to sustainable happiness. I try to work out and stay healthy; largely successful at it but I´m too lazy :-)
