Grounded, personable, and supportive are some of the words used to describe me. I like meeting people and connecting them with others.
Toronto has been my home since studying broadcasting at university. I'm out around town often. I love the many different neighbourhoods here, the food, the arts, electronic music to folk acts, tech events and sailing to the Islands. I grew up in Montreal, have lived briefly in Ottawa, Lake Louise and England. So far I've travelled across Canada, United States, Peru, Mexico, Roatan, Bermuda, Jamaica, United Kingdom, Ireland, and Italy.
I'm currently a freelance project consultant for online communications and design initiatives. I help entrepreneurs and small companies but have a background working in large institutions. I like being involved with online media as it shapes the way we live, work, and play.
I'm may offer my furnished, uncluttered, modern one bedroom corner unit home near College and Bathurst for a longer term rental with a professional or faculty member.
I am an unapologetic member of AirBnB and have liked meeting some of the wonderful guests and hosts here. I think that the platform offers a stronger value than Craigslst, Kijiji, or with what this isn't, a hotel. The concept of home-sharing with a friendly local connection is relatively new. Members are vetted by questions and answers that start a relationship well before arrival. Using this community is like letting a distant family member stay over. I kid not. It's been that safe, friendly and mature. Members are vouched and have reviewed profiles, verified driver's license or passport, credit, social media links and more. There is no digital veil of secrecy. Membership is governed by terms, goodwill and good behaviour. I have enjoyed AirBnB as a host when away or staying nearby. My home was always left as found but in addition to my rental insurance, I appreciate the Protection Insurance program, the Host Guarantee policy, local community meetups, the customer support team and having the Airbnb office 5 min away on College St.
I believe that the best ideas are not always obvious. Your suggestions are welcome. Contact me here or email: tomatthew at gma_l._om (guess).
