Feb 2015 update
My private residence is not currently available. But one day I may offer my clean, furnished, uncluttered, modern 1 bedroom corner unit home at College and Bathurst for a long term rental again to a guest found via AirBnB and within my condo's terms.
I am an unapologetic fan of AirBnB and the wonderful hosts and guests here. I think that the platform is a vastly more secure, safe and trustworthy community (with member reviewed profiles, verified drivers license or passport, social media info, terms, credit card etc) than Craigslst, Kijiji, Booking, or when hiring real estate rental agents. Membership here is governed by good will and good behavior. My private residence was left as found after renting but in addition to my rental insurance, I appreciate the Protection Insurance program, the Host Guarantee policy, local community meetups, and the customer support team here. Using this community is like letting a distant family member stay over. I kid you not. It's that safe, friendly, fuzzy and nice.
So about me...
I have enjoyed AirBnB as a host when away or staying next door.
For work I help plan, design, pull and flip switches towards new initiatives online via web, social, and mobile. Beside my family and friends here, I think the best things about living in Toronto are the neighbourhoods, events, arts, restaurants, and sailing. I like exploring the city, design, electronic to folk music, tech unconferences, and the great outdoors. Meeting people and connecting them with friends, places, and events is something I enjoy too. Toronto has been my home since studying broadcasting here at university. I grew up in Montreal and have also lived in England and Ottawa. I've travelled in the Americas and Europe. Friends have described me as grounded, personable, and empathetic.
I believe that the best ideas are not always obvious. Your suggestions are welcome.
