This was our second stay at Aileen's lovely house and it was just as enjoyable and relaxing, just like the first time.
From the moment we stepped inside Aileen's beautiful home, we felt instantly relaxed and at ease.
One of the first things I noticed, was the presence of so many Salt Lamps around the place- great for allergies/asthmatics. Not to mention they are pretty when lit up :)
Aileen was very welcoming and we felt so comfortable the entire stay.
The first night as we sat on her comfy couch with a wine in the hand, she offered her advice on some good places to eat and some fun things to do. It was great to have such valuable insight from a local. We really enjoyed chatting to her- very friendly and easy-going.
Being the active couple we are, we saw quite a bit. By the afternoon, all we wanted to do was go back to Aileen's house & relax. Which is what we did.
The recliner chairs were too tempting- especially with a good book and such an amazing view. Pure serenity.
We liked the location because it offered the best of both worlds. Peaceful with the sense of space and only a 10min drive into Daylesford.
My husband and I wanted to stay somewhere that we would be able to clear our minds and cleanse our souls. This stay did exactly that for us!
We also had a lovely massage from Aileen which left us feeling great.
Will go back for sure :)
A tranquil setting. Aileen was a gorgeous host and shared many interests with us. A perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Aileen's place is truly peaceful and tranquil and a couple of nights there felt much longer.
Her place is set amongst the rolling hills outside of Hepburn Springs and through the large wood-framed windows the panorama of the surrounding landscape is mesmerizing and ever-changing. There was native wildlife aplenty and some rather sweet and cheeky goats in the paddock nearby.
Aileen very kindly stocked the fridge with delicious quality breakfast items and even made me a super-healthy smoothie before I left, so I felt very well cared for and frankly wished I could stay a few more days!
I would recommend this place heartily to anyone who's looking for a place that is warm, relaxing and nurturing with fresh air and lots of light. It was just a hop skip and a jump to Hepburn Springs and Daylesford on one side and Castlemaine on the other. A great way to spend time in the country!
Aileen's home is just gorgeous. We loved the natural bush setting, and appreciated that we had our own private space as well as access to the beautiful kitchen and living area. Aileen herself is a wonderful hostess; she recommended a great place for dinner and generously explained the interesting things to do in the area and helped us with directions!
Aileen was a excellent host and the mud brick house was beautiful. If only we didn't have a wedding we needed to race off to, we would have loved to have spent more time on this gorgeous property.
Aileen was a very gracious host. I actually felt like I had known her for years in a very short time. The room was comfortable and very clean with lovely aromatherapy (true aromatherapy!) which helped me relax quickly.
I loved her home. I love earth homes and always seek out accommodation that is either strawbale or mud. Her home has that wonderful womb like feeling that only homes made from natural materials have. You step inside and immediately feel like you can breathe again.
Thanks for a lovely stay and being so welcoming.
What a special home and host!
The house and surrounds are relaxed, welcoming, open and clean.
Aileen is just about the most genuine person you are likely to meet. As I was staying at her place by myself, she was very generous with her time, wisdom and experiences.
I look forward to staying again - many thanks.
Aileen was an incredible host! With a beautiful home and lots of great insider tips for Daylesford and Hepburn Springs we would stay there again in a heartbeat. And her porridge is incredible!
Thanks Aileen for being a very kind hostess - you made us feel quite at home and we enjoyed chatting with you. Our stay was fun and your house was very pleasant (we particularly liked the log fire) and clean. The settling (including goats in nearby field) was very tranquil and refreshing. We would definitely hope to return if we were in the area again.
It was great to host Aileen and company. Aileen is super punctual when it comes to timing hence a smooth check-in. My house is as it is when she left; she really respect and took care of the house. Appreciate her consideration. Would love to host her again if she ever comes back Ipoh for the food.
I have known Aileen for many years. She is very interested in people. A great listener, she is also a well of knowledge. She has travelled widely and continues to do so. She understands the needs of travellers and is a lovely host. She is honest, a woman of integrity and has a heart of gold. I have no reservations in recommending her as a host and a guest.
