Be nice or leave. :)
Best location in the Quarter! Bradley is an amazing host. Me and my friends will be back
The Creole Cottage is a wonderful spot and full of character. The location cannot be beat: about 30 yards off of a quiet stretch of Bourbon St., with a private courtyard where you can just hear the whistles of the nearby steamers. Bradley and co. take good care of the property and pay great attention to detail: the beds are very comfortable and the sheets are nice, the A/C works very well, etc. The place is right across from - and with decor perhaps inspired by? - the Voodoo museum. All in all a great spot to add color to your French Quarter stay.
NB for those large of frame: the entryway from the street to the courtyard is extraordinarily narrow, as is the spiral staircase that connects from the first floor to the second floor (remember that the only bathroom is on the second floor too). Those aren't complaints as much as practical considerations.
For a first time in New Orleans, skip the character-less hotel and stay at Bradley's quirky abode.
We came to NoLa for Jazzfest and a family trip but we wanted an authentic experience of the city. Bradley's home is right in the middle of the French Quarter but far enough away from the wild bars that you can get a good night's sleep. We could have stayed within a ten block radius of the house and never run out of things to do. Great restaurants like Amelie Cafe and one of the oldest bars in the country (I think they call themselves the oldest... but I've been to a few of those around the country) are minutes away.
This is a home with character and characters. There are coffee table books of fashion icons and Lady Gaga, some moderately gory artwork on the walls, a lovely private courtyard and a hilariously thin entrance to the home - an old carriage house. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen well stocked with everything you'd need (the basics: coffee, plastic cups, etc) and more, everything was perfectly clean.
You should know, that you're really diving into a whole experience here. While you have a provate courtyard you have a non-private single bathroom that guests of the upstairs and downstairs room will share. Downstairs guests have to walk through the upstairs bedroom to get to the bathroom - but really, who cares? We were a 2 older parents and 2 kids in their young twenties and we just went with it.
I can safely say that my once airbnb skeptical parents were convinced by the experience at Bradley's place.
The space is great. We really made the most of the patio, and the beds were crazy comfortable. Bradley was incredibly hospitable- when we were short on sheets he was there within a few hours with a brand new set.
Overall great place, great location.
There is only one word to describe the time we had staying at Bradley's place: Incredible. We were in town for a wedding and everyone who stopped by our amazing apartment couldn't believe their eyes. It has a "mystic shabby-chic" aesthetic that feels right at home in a place with so much light and fresh air. We stayed as a group of four and had PLENTY of space.
The benefits are many. You're steps from the *good* part of Bourbon street, easily within walking distance from the things you'll want to see but not want to dwell in. The apartment is tucked back from the street, so you barely hear anything. The courtyard itself is an oasis of calm (email hidden)ly city. And the hosts themselves are super accommodating and very nice!
We slept each night with the French doors open and the breeze coming in. It was amazing to wake up to...Not to mention that the beds are insanely comfortable.
This is hands down the place I would choose to stay in as soon as I come back to New Orleans (which I know will be very soon).
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Bradley's place was really great. It's right in the middle of the French Quarter, but magically secluded since it's in the back, off the street. In addition to the very nice apartment there's a wonderful private courtyard which (email hidden) to start or end your day.
As others have noted, there's a tight spiral staircase up to the second floor which is where you'll find the master bedroom and the one bathroom This wasn't a problem for us since we're on the small side, but it might be an issue for larger (or older) folks. And keep in mind that the folks on the first floor will pass through the upstairs bedroom on the way to the bathroom.
Bradley (email hidden), and when we had a minor issue with the WiFi, he got right back to us and helped us reset the router. Problem (email hidden) in the heart of New Orleans.
Bradley (email hidden). He went above and beyond to make our stay a comfortable one. Great location. Walking distance to everything.
Stayed here with a few buddies during the Super Bowl weekend. This apartment is great. The front door is about 50 feet from Bourbon street. It's the quieter part of Bourbon so you avoid the insanity of the big bars and revelry. Conveniently enough the main strip is about a 3 minute walk, so you can get into the action as frequently as you like. We were here mostly to party, and location-wise it was perfect. It is also extremely close to a lot of the historic sightseeing areas, the river, and Harrah's casino, so no matter what your trip calls for you'll likely be nearby.
The apartment itself has a cool artsy feel, unlike any other I'd ever really been in. The photos describe it well. The decorations are kind of funky and weird. Nice sized kitchen and all the amenities you would need for a short or long stay. The courtyard is great and ideal for hosting a small group. No complaints about any of the living arrangements- beds, bathroom, washer/dryer, kitchen were all up to par. As was mentioned by another reviewer, I would be wary if a member of your party happens to be very large, as the staircase and shower require a little maneuvering.
Bradley (email hidden), he showed me around and made himself available for local advice and questions. We really had no problems while staying here and having a home base right in the french quarter made for a memorable trip.
(email hidden)! Bradley and Brennan made us feel very welcome and their place is fantastic. The beds are amazingly comfortable and the bath tub was great too. Everything was where you needed it to be and clean. The cottage is so close to Bourbon Street but you don't hear it at night. You couldn't ask (email hidden) to stay in NOLA!
Bradley and Brennan have a both been great friends of mine for more years than I can count. Being familiar with the host and the home, and as an airbnb host myself, I know that these guys have much to offer. They are honest, generous, and kind, and the apartment/location is beyond amazing. We have all traveled together, and all know what a traveler is looking for when experiencing a new city. This is the whole package: a beautiful apartment with great amenities in a perfect location with great hosts who are friendly and who genuinely love and know their home city. I would HIGHLY reccomend this listing to guests who are looking for an authentic New Orleans experience.
