6-hectare Hacienda in Salas de los Barrios where one can enjoy a quality natural environment, just 7 minutes from Ponferrada (León, Spain).
Unique example of conservation of an Hacienda devoted to wine and other farming products like cherries, pears, in addition to an extensive forest variety such as acacias, oaks, pines, rhododendrons, lime trees, brave chestnut trees, Indian chestnut trees, roses, among others, as well as the typical local horticulture.
It has a traditional swimming pool surrounded by mimosas.
The building dates back from 1557, with a plant consisting of a 2300 meter Latin cross with a paved courtyard in which lies the main entrance. Ample parking oriented inside the valley.
It has 3 rooms (2 double room and 1 triple room) available (breakfast included).
The restaurant is part of a spectacular 230 square meters wine cellar with 4 impressive arches, 6 meters high. It is a dreamlike space with scents and flavors of the sixteenth century which scrupulously respect the soil and stones.
The culinary proposal is based on local dishes made with local products. A menu to enjoy traditional recipes from the Bierzo area. Octopus, mushroom croquettes, chicken, veal and pig products. All this washed down by Mencia wine prepared at home and aged 12 months in oak barrels.
In the house there are well-preserved wall papers since 1820. There are texts that date from 1502 and 1790 scores for a piano coming from the Universal Exhibition who took place in Paris in 1855. This frames a reception hall that is open to the public and that also acts as a dining hall.
Typical restaurant located in a singular property of the sixteenth century (Bierzo-León)
