Santa Teresa is a great neighborhood and Pedro's house is very well located for a visit to Santa Teresa. The house is cute and comfortable. The hosts have done a great deal to make it easy to be a guest, and to have all necessary information for visiting Rio.
Pedro and Marina are a relaxed and welcoming couple, and their flat is really cosy. It's easy to find your way, except if you're a brazilian taxi driver... However, there's hardly any need for taxis since Santa Teresa is so great there's no need to go anywhere else. Possibly down the hill for some late night partying in Lapa, but there are plenty of good bars nearby. tried to visit them all, but failed.
Largo das Neves, a square with an old church and a few bars, is a stone throw down their street. We spent lots of time just sitting there enjoying the stunning views over cold beers.
We arrived from a brief stay at Ipanema, and this part of the city we felt so much more relaxed. Much less people, hardly any traffic and almost constantly smiling bartenders. Oh, my favourite place was kind of a "hole in the wall" up the street and just around the corner. A funny lady sold fresh juice, snacks and hamburgers through her kitchen window. Recommended!
All in all, we would love to come back some day. Unfortunately it won't be to the same flat, since they mentioned they were moving to another place nearby. Though I hope they host guests there too, since they surely know how to decorate an inspiring home...
We had a wonderful time at Pedro and Marina's. Their home is very clean and beautifully decorated. Our room was cozy and comfortable We fell in love with their French Bulldogs, Fredo and Frida and it was a joy to walk them in the morning. We were rewarded for our weekend of dogsitting with specially baked favors from the wedding Pedro and Marina attended that we enjoyed on our flight to Chile. They shared amazing baked bread and we enjoyed evenings on their patio. We were able to take buses everywhere and there were dozens and dozens of places to eat on the main street. We took the steps down each day (we walked up only once - it was a worthy challenge) and the bus up the hill ran frequently from the main street. Thank you Pedro and Marina, Fredo and Frida.
staying at perdro´s and Marina was a pleasure, the room is very well equiped, the hosts are very nice people and Santa Teresa is a beautiful spot. I recomend it 100% to other travelers.... and pedro´s breakfast is amazing.
an absolutely value for money stay with pedro and marina + the cute canines..freda and fredo
Pedro and Marina's house is the place to stay in Rio! They house is really beautiful and clean, just as you in pictures. The patio is a definite highlight. The room is very cosy and has a comfortable bed. Pedro and Marina are perfect hosts, really friendly.helpful and easy going. Santa Teresa is a great location, peaceful with beautiful views yet close to everything you might need. All in all a great experience from start to end! I would definitely stay here again!
Thank you both so much!
I really appreciate Pedro and Marina's house. It is well located, quiet, and very confortable.
Pedro and Marina were hepfull to organised my trip in Rio, and friendly too.
I recomand this place to anyone who would like to meet welcoming carioca!
Very nice apartment in a very nice area of Rio de Janeiro, the perfect place to enjoy your stay there as a real carioca !
We had a great stay with Pedro and Marina at their apartment in Santa Teresa. They were fantastic hosts and made the whole thing very easy for us. They helped us navigate the neighborhood and all of Rio.
The apartment is quite charming and the porch is very nice. The room has a queen bed - perfect for a couple. The neighborhood of Santa Teresa is a great place to stay to get a complete Rio experience. If you don't mind walking, it is a perfect home base to visit not only Santa Teresa, but also Lapa, Corcovado, and other nearby neighborhoods.
We were three friends who stayed in Pedros apartment for one week during the carnival. We can absolutely recommend Pedro as a host. He even wrote us a Rio - city guide, and provided us with costumes for the carnival. Great people & great place!
It was totally easy to communicate with Pedro and he was great! We met only briefly, but I would readily welcome him back as a guest.
Pedro and his girlfriend were fantastic guests! From check-in to check-out, they were easy to schedule with and relaxed. They also spoiled our puppies rotten with attention. All in all, very kind people who I would recommend to any future host.
Pedro and Marina are really awesome people and the art of hosting is deeply rooted in their souls. They were one of the very first friends I've made since I moved to Rio and I always felt welcome at their home. It's a pitty that they are opening their house for the AirBnb, because now, we are losing a bed in one of the nicest places to enjoy a peaceful weekend in Santa Teresa. If it happens that you have a chance to meet Pedro inspired and willing to cook, you're gonna thank god for choosing the right place to stay.
Peter and Marina are a couple extremely kind and their home is one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The house is very cozy and I say this as an assiduous participant home. for those who want a central stay while prime city is an excellent choice. I've had the pleasure of "live" a few times in this house and was a resident of the Santa Teresa neighborhood for many years.
Pedro and Marina were some of the first people I've met when I moved to Rio more than 4 years ago and they are the kind of people that make you feel like home anytime, anywhere. They are a sweet family along with their crazy dogs, and it's always great to spend some time with them listening to their stories or tasting Pedro's food. I highly recommend them as a host!
Pedro and his wife, Marina, are lovely people, highly trustful. I've known them for almost 4 years and we've traveled together sometimes around Brazil. They're great companies, always helpful and organized. I just cannot follow them when tracking is included - they have an unbelievable energy...
I've known Pedro since college, for about 15 years now, and we know each other very well. I have also known Marina since they met, so I guess I have some personal knowledge to share here. We traveled together through many places in Brazil, Europe and beyond, staying in hostels, (website hidden) and etc. I also had the chance to stay in his places wherever he lived, including his current place in Santa Teresa.
Both as a guest and as a Host, Pedro has everything that you would like. Great conversations, knowledge about the best things and places in Rio and curiosity about the places he goes to. His (website hidden) experience gives him a great understanding of the spirit of hosting and being a guest in someone else's home. There is no drama or lack of care involved.
Oh, and by the way, he's a world-class cook also!
Pedro and Marina always make their best to make you feel at home. I always had very good moment with them. I definitely recommend you to stay there. Santa Tereza is a historic place in Rio and from there you can take public transportations to many other places in Rio.
