I am originally from NY by way of Massachusetts to DC. I like to workout, cook, read, dance, travel and laugh.
Suz's apartment is in a great location: near the Marriott and Omni convention hotels, close to the zoo and a very easy walk to metro. Also it is near several great restaurants. And the apartment itself is bright and airy. The guest room is spacious and comfortable with its own bath. Suz had some nice extras: brochures about DC, a couple of pieces of fresh fruit, etc. She is a friendly, non-intrusive host who welcomes you and let us you do your own thing. Great stay. And Schmutz, the cat, will welcome you as well. I can't say enough good about Suz and her airbnb accommodation.
It was a pleasure to stay at Suzannah's (and Schmootzy)' place. The location was very convenient (even if you are not attending a conference at the nearby Marriot) - near public transport and many restaurants. I had no difficulties in my communications with Suzannah and felt very comfortable with the arrangements. Schmootzie, the cat, is very curious and friendly and made me feel immediately welcome. The room and flat were as described and presented. Merci Suzannah!
Another fantastic stay with Suzannah. The flat is such an idyll after a hectic week at a convention. There's now a welcome basket of maps and guides which is really helpful for finding ones way around Washington. Schmootz the cat is much calmer than during my last visit but extremely friendly, which adds to the whole experience feeling like a home from home. Brilliant, fast WiFi makes it possible to keep in touch with the office. The apartment is indeed a real sanctuary. I'm already planning my next visit. I still wouldn't stay anywhere else in Washington DC. Really great value.
Staying at Suzannah's was overall an excellent experience. I thoroughly enjoyed it! This was my first time using AirBnB and I am glad I had such a wonderful time. The apartment is small, but clean and cozy, and very conveniently located (close to the metro and to downtown). Suzannah is a great host and is very thoughtful. I really appreciated her welcome basket at the time of need. :)) I adore cats, so her kitty, Shmutz, was not a problem at all. In fact, he made me feel at home and so did his owner. I would absolutely stay there again and I highly recommend Suzannah's place to anyone visiting DC.
This really a a sanctuary in DC. Nice green part of town, I was able to park without problems on the street in Front of the building. Suzanna is kind and accommodating as a host, and her cat is so fun to have around. I had a nasty cold during my stay and I found it to be a great place to go back to after my work and just recover. If you are over 6 feet tall the bed might be too small for you, so that's the one thing to watch out for!
Suzannah's apartment is delightfully comfortable and in a great neighborhood. Suzannah is engaging and easy to talk to, and helpful with whatever you need. Being so close to the Metro, restaurants, and shops makes it easy to enjoy the city and there's a great breakfast spot down the street. I'll definitely return!
Response from Suzannah:
Lizann, You are welcome any time. Hope to see you soon. Suz
Suzannah was a great host. Very easy to talk to you and very clear about keys and timelines. Her place is a two-minute walk to the M..t Hotel that hosts a lot of conferences, and the price of her room was half the rate of a hotel room there.
Easy access to metro, cozy neighborhood and good price. Suzannah is a wonderful host, and her cat is cute and welcoming. All these make my first airbnb experience perfect. Highly recommended for everyone who travel in Washington DC, can't ask for more :)
A true sanctuary and oasis of calm! Absolutely ideal for a woman travelling alone. The apartment is in a great, well-known, 1940s building in fantastic, very safe neighborhood. Amazing cherry blossoms on the short walk (just 200 yards) from the red-line Metro made me realise I was in Washington DC! Located next to a big hotel meant that there were always taxis available and even DC taxis (which don't seem to know much) knew where the building was. A very helpful attendant at the front desk provides added security. Super-friendly cat Schmootzie welcomed me like a long-lost relative. He's adorable! It would be my dream apartment (I would buy it on the spot if it ever came up for sale...): light, airy, quiet, calm. Wood floors, Spacious bedroom (single bed). Good private bathroom (tub/shower). Soft sheets, masses of pillows, fluffy towels. Suzannah was a very welcoming and friendly hostess, though our conflicting schedules meant that I hardly saw her. It really felt like my own apartment and a place to refresh and recover after a hard day's work. I look forward to my next stay there and examining further her fascinating art and photography collections which are part of the apartment's unique decor. Thank you Suzannah, and thank you Airbnb for a great place to stay in Washington DC.
Suzannah was good to me while I stayed with her, and I thank her for it. (She was also out quite a lot, which helped with the awkwardness that comes from intruding on someone else's intimate space!) The apartment is also in a very central location: very close to the Metro, and in an easy neighbourhood.
I have to say, though, that you should only stay here if you really like cats and are not at all allergic to them. I found the kitty litter tray taking up a lot of space in the bathroom confronting, especially since granules from it were often scattered on the floor. I also had eye allergies: I have never stayed in a place where the cat was inside the whole time, so I didn't expect this would be the case.
If you're fine with both these things, you will have a good time here - if not, you should look elsewhere.
