The house was very nice, even a little larger than I had expected. The surrounding area is also great. Jerry was helpful in getting access.
We enjoyed our stay here very much. Jerry's house was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed, including a comfy TV room in which to watch some of the U.S. Open. The kitchen was well equipped (I think we never found a toaster) with lots of basic supplies.
We would probably describe the "private beach" as waterfront access 250 yards away at the end of the road. It would be very difficult for small children or grandparents to access the water due to the steep steps down the bluff.
It's a slightly more than ten minute drive to Sag Harbor, which is a nice place to stroll round and eat in. There is a public access sandy beach within about ten minutes drive.
We loved the tranquility and sitting on the deck in the evening. The photos give a good idea of the house, inside and out. Thanks very much for your hospitality Jerry.
Jerry was very accommodating and friendly. The house was exactly as advertised and had everything someone could possibly need. We enjoyed spending time relaxing in the yard. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. Walking down to the private beach we got to see some deer. At night it was only a 10 minute ride to a lot of great restaurants. I would definitely recommend renting this house!
Jerry and Susan's house is as described - a charming and peaceful retreat nestled among trees and a short walk from the beach. it is well equipped with everything we needed and very comfortable beds. Jerry's directions were easy to follow and we appreciated the brochures on things to do in the area. we enjoyed breakfast on the deck and Sunday morning brunch at the Wolffer Estate winery overlooking the vines.
Very nice and charming house. A beautiful porch, in a quiet neighborhood. Close to the beach and Elizabeth A. Morton National Wildlife Refuge - a must see. Had (email hidden) & Grill, a short drive. The food was excellent. Took a one hour boat ride around the harbor with captain Hagen of (website hidden). Overall a very nice weekend away from the city.
Jogging in the morning, BBQ out on the porch, Tennis 10 min down the road on clay courts, beach views around every turn, overall wonderful time. The house is as described and the beds a quiet comfy. The owners, who we met, are also great and friendly people. I would definitely go back, and would recommend this place to a friend.
Thanks for opening up your home!
Our host was very accommodating. The house and neighborhood were pretty, quiet, and very comfortable. We had a great stay.
A great place, and very quiet (at least in this off-season). The house is beautiful and comfortable, and the nearby nature reserve makes for some stunning exploration (though the private beach down the road can get a bit blustery this time of year). A fireplace, well-appointed kitchen, and cozy living room make staying in appealing as well.
We just spend Christmas at Jerry's house and it was perfect. Great location with a great outdoor space for a morning coffee in the cold and cute beach very close by. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to make a big dinner. Jerry was very helpful and quick to response.
We would definitely stay there again!
Wonderful weekend in Sag Harbor with friends! Perfectly appointed house in a great location but - cold enough for the fireplace but warm enough for the grill. Will for sure stay again if we come back to the South Fork.
