My girlfriend and I stayed here for a week in July, and this beachfront condo has a perfect location (right in front of Kalama Beach Park!). We love that the restaurants, snorkel bob, and supermarkets are all within walking distance from the condo. The pictures posted on Airbnb are accurate (the condo is actually larger than we thought). It was well equipped with everything we need to enjoy our stay (well equipped kitchen/bath/cleaning supplies).
We didn't meet Carolyn during our stay, but the communication via airbnb and cell phone was excellent (always get back to us within a few minutes). The check-in and check-out process was smooth and seamless. We definitely recommend this place.
My wife and I loved Carolyn's condo. It is in a great location, across the street from the beach. Good, affordable restaurants located within easy walking distance. A grocery store about 3-4 blocks away.
The condo was clean and well appointed. Very well thought out design, with a nice kitchen and accessories. The bed was better than we had the following week at a high dollar corporate Wailea spot. The washer and dryer worked great, the TV was even impressive.
This condo is an excellent value and I would stay here again. Exceeded my expectations
We had a wonderful time and we loved the place! We also loved the location as well!
The unit was clean, convenient and perfect for our trip. The location in Kihei was great - the beach is across the road and it's a nice beach for swimming. Grocery stores, shopping and restaurants are all right there too. There is a amazing unobstructed view of the ocean from the 7th floor of the building.
This condo was very nice with all the things you need. Even beach chairs, snorkel items, and umbrellas which is a plus.
Spent 5 nights at KBR Aloha Suite. It certainlly had everything we needed and then some. Location was great and the Kamaole beaches were beautiful.
We had a fun time staying in Kihei on our first trip to Maui. The condo is in a great location - literally almost across the street from Kamaole I Beach. I didn't find the condo noisy at all (but it seemed like there wasn't a lot of people in the complex when we stayed). I thought the bed and pillows were very comfortable (and I'm 7 months pregnant!). There are plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. The TV and internet worked great. So did the washer/dryer. We used Maui Baby Rentals as recommended by Carolyn to get a toddler bed delivered - it did fit in the bedroom and was already there when we showed up. There are some random useful supplies already in the unit (stroller, beach umbrella, coolers and ice packs, etc). Overall, we were very satisfied.
One thing I'll mention, however... The kitchen did have roaches. Over the 10 days, we saw about 15 of them. Most were hanging out around the sink. We did let Carolyn know by e-mail and she replied that she contacted the front desk about it. We never heard anything from the front desk so we talked directly to a maintenance person that we ran into. He gave us some traps that we put under the sink, which helped but didn't make them go away. He did say that the exterminators had skipped this unit because they couldn't get in so it was never sprayed for roaches. Personally, I will ask Carolyn if the unit has been sprayed before staying here again. But we did a lot of cooking in the unit and had our two-year-old there. If you aren't really planning on cooking, this may not be an issue for you. After seeing the roaches, we did inspect the bedroom for bedbugs and didn't find anything (whew!). I would have given this place 5 stars with no roaches and 4 stars if the traps had worked completely but since our little buddies stuck around to bid us farewell on the last day, I give this unit 3 stars.
Carolyn is a pleasure to work with. She answered questions quickly and just took GREAT CARE OF US!!! I don't know how we could find a better host. She was one of the best parts of being in Hawaii.
The condo is spacious and close to lots of fun eateries and bars. AND, right across from a beach park. Unfortunately what you cross is a very busy street. This is a great location and a great condo but with the windows and patio door open the street noise is ever present.
The unit was great, very comfortable and well equipped. The location was really good - the beach is across the road and it's a really nice beach for swimming; grocery stores, places to eat and gear shops are all right there too. I liked the view from the verandah, it's a mix of buildings, palm trees and ocean. There is a fabulous unobstructed view of the ocean from the public area on the 7th floor where there are tables and chairs so you can have your meals if you like. We would happily stay there again.
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome! Mahalo! Great experience! Best value! Great view! Kamaole Beach Royale Aloha Suite met and exceeded all our expectations. Carolyn was always helpful and available. Central to everything. Great Beach access. I hope to visit again soon!
*Feet from child friendly beach
*Feet from awesome pool
*Just a couple blocks in each direction to food and shopping
*Surf board rental shop next door
*Carolyn is super nice and accommodating
*Washer, dryer, dish washer
*We met great people with kids also staying in the complex
*Condo is extremely over crowded with furniture. To the point where there is not an open surface any where for your things. We had to stuff things that were there in closets and drawers. Suit cases had to go in the car.
*Listed that it sleeps 6 people. Not a chance. 4 people is maximum for this place. Sofa bed is not sleep-able for anyone of any age.
*Kitchen had a crazy mix match of dishes that were never quite what was needed. No cheese grader, not enough forks and spoons, etc.
*Beds are not comfortable. In fact the king size bed is collapsing to the point where you feel swallowed.
*Condo was not ready and clean when we arrived.
*Maintenance issues that clearly have not been addressed in some time
*Year around neighbors who were less than welcoming. Lets just leave it at that.
All and all we enjoyed our 2 week stay. It's Maui and we will trudge through just about anything to get to be there. But my review is so others are aware of where they are staying. I would not suggest having more than one child staying in this condo. There just is not space.
