I been leaving in Quepos/Manuel Antonio since 1994.
Owned restaurant for many years and then change for vacation rental managing.
I own 2 little apartments, Nature Lover's and Birds Watching, plus manage other houses in the area.
Thierry was very hospitable, and we really enjoyed our stay. It's ridiculously easy to get into town from his place, but far enough away to be secluded. Thierry was generous, bringing us fruit and snacks when we arrived and immediately bringing us a new chair when we broke one of them.
Thierry is a great host - very informative and helpful with every and anything you could need. His place is very nice as well - clean, quiet, secure, excellent location, and excellent for watching the jungle fauna. One morning I awoke to some rustling in the canopy to find a family of white-headed capuchin monkeys passing through. One was curious and approached to within 2 meters; I was literally face-to-face with this amazing creature. Highly recommended host and accomodations!
Very nice and clean house in a beautifull area. Thierry is a great guy and very helpfull. If you are staying in the Quepos area this is the place to be!
Thierry is a wonderful host. He is very concerned about the comfort and needs of his guests. He picked me up from the hotel and drove me to Quepos and waited patiently while I did some grocery shopping on the first day. He provided a phone for me so I could get in touch with him from anywhere. He referred me to his dentist and drove me there for the first visit. He is fluent in French, Spanish, and English.
The apartment is right in the jungle and I was able to watch four kinds of monkeys, many birds and a pair of acuti.
It was a great stay!
My boyfriend and I absolutely loved staying at Theirry's place! It was exactly what we were looking for. We were off the beaten path, so we felt like locals with our own little apartment in the jungle, but it was only $1-2 for a cab ride into town, and we never waited more than 5 min. for a cab. Don't worry about all the warnings you read about only taking cabs with a triangle on the side door. We took any cab that stopped, marked, un-marked, meter, no meter, it doesn't matter. Theirry contacted me right away after booking his place, and was helpful answering my questions before we even arrived!. Once we got there, he welcomed us with a smile and a quick run down of the basics (since we had never been to CR before). He also stocked our fridge with a pineapple, milk, (good) coffee, real cane sugar. He told us to just come knock on his door anytime we had questions, and we did! Ha! He was always available and happy to help. Take the hiking trail behind the apartment! It's not an easy trail, but it was so very cool to trek through the rain forest. I faced my fears and it felt amazing. One thing I would recommend is just to make sure the windows aren't letting any creepy crawlies in, just check to make sure the screens and sides are shut. Hot water in the shower, towels (just ask if you need more), TP, all included. Anything else you need the local grocery store will have it. Thanks Thierry for making our trip unforgettable! I keep saying everyday, "I wish we were back in CR". Pura Vida!
My stay here was absolutely fantastic and an once in a lifetime experience! The apartment is in the town of the Quepos and is conveniently located near all major attractions and destinations, including the Manuel Antonio National Park. As the name of the property suggests, the apartment is within a tropical rainforest. From the convenience of your balcony, you will see plenty of nature and wildlife, including monkeys and toucans. The apartment itself is very well decorated, comfortable, and offers all your modern day amenities. My host, Thierry, was extremely friendly and hospitable. He ensured that my stay was very comfortable and offered many local tips that one will never find in any travel guide. I'm looking forward to visiting and staying here again soon!
It was nice to be relatively out of the way of the downtown area, anyone that wants to visit Manuel Antonio I would recommend staying at Thierry's. He is a very informative host and it is much cheaper to stay in Quepos and take the bus to Manuel Antonio. I would recommend this place to any of my friends and family.
I tell everyone about this place! I absolutely loved it! I called it my "Monkey Jungle Apartment" - even though I unfortunately never saw a monkey from the balcony while I was there. I still enjoyed relaxing in the hammock and just listening to the sounds of the jungle. The colorful wall decorations and bedspread were cheerful, and the open design made the place feel larger. There are good screens on the windows and sliding door, so you can sleep with the windows open and the fans on and be very comfortable at night (without having to turn on the air-conditioning). I brought earplugs to muffle the jungle sounds, so I slept like a baby. I was very happy here and the time flew by - I wish I could've stayed for the whole season! Thierry is a very gracious host and knows a lot about the area. I had my own car so the location was just a short drive in to town, but I am told that you can catch a bus in front of the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place and would definitely stay here again! Thank you for everything Thierry!
This apartment is brand new and beautiful! The bed was comfortable and the shower was awesome! The design of the place allows for lots of natural light, and the huge wrap-around balcony is a great place to relax and watch for animals in the jungle. I had a wonderful stay here! Thierry was a very accommodating host. He is friendly and very helpful. I would definitely recommend this place!
