I am Hindu, a mother and wife, a Personal Assistant, a Tour Leader and a Property Manager.
My mother and I stayed at Two Seasons from June 1-4. Ilhu was very friendly (email hidden)e location of Two Seasons was fantastic, if you're looking to stay in Penestanan, which is a very charming village just outside of Ubud, with many footpaths leading to all sorts of interesting shops and restaurants. Two Seasons is just 5 minutes from Lala Lili, a great little cafe, and 10 minutes from Intuitive Flow yoga studio and Yellow Flower Cafe, two other must-tries in the area. My mother and I walked into Ubud daily -- it's a 15 minute walk with one steep hill, but it was not a difficult walk at all. Maps are provided in Two Seasons.
The bungalow itself is in a private compound with a locked front door to get into the compound itself, and two locked doors to enter Two Seasons apartment. This made the location feel very secure. Although there is no air conditioning, the fans insured that the apartment never felt stuffy. The patio on the first floor is just great: clean patio furniture with nice, green views. the views themselves were nice but expansive: like others have said, you can indeed see the properties next to you. But it was green and felt private, and that's what we were looking for.
The shower and bathroom were just fine -- the shower had hot water and good water pressure. The bedding was clean. Overall, this bungalow is a fantastic value for your money, and I highly recommend!
The only negative is the bugs -- if you are VERY averse to bugs or lizards, you should stay elsewhere. It is just a part of life in a light, airy apartment like this, and the hosts do provide both bug spray and a more serious bug repellant you can spray around the apartment to fend off ants.
The space is gorgeous. I was specifically looking for an open air place with a nice big ceiling fan, and I got what I wanted. The temperature was comfortable and the breeze was priceless.
The value is great, and the place is located in a nice spot outside of Ubud but within immediate walking distance of places to get massages, food, and some hip new cafes.
I like to be adventurous and experience different spaces, but I'll probably return here if I find myself in Ubud again.
Staying at two seasons was great (we stayed for 8 days). The location is perfect, 5 min motorbike ride (maybe 10-15 min on a bicycle) to "downtown" Ubud, but situated in a quieter, less crowded area. There are a couple great, "green" cafe's in the area. Lots of vegetarian options. We weren't able to use the downstairs pool but were able to use the pool down the street at the Melati cottages for a few dollars.
Our guest Nano helped us arrange motorbike rentals, day trips, transportation, and whatever else we needed. He was very responsive, and very friendly.
The power went out in the villa a few times, for a few minutes, but returned soon after. And yes, "critters" in the villa (like geckos), but my two little kids enjoyed that.
Quite a good stay and a bargain IMO.
Two Seasons is in the ideal location for your Ubud stay. It is close to iconic Penestanan warungs (cafés) and sights yet tranquil & quiet.
The villa is spacious and beautifully decorated.
We were wondering if we would be comfortable without air conditioning, but it wasn't an issue during our stay in April. The fans supplied are very good.
The pool is beautiful and we made use of it every day we were there. Nano is a helpful and humble host. He was readily available on email & we basically felt we were in good hands.
We did not think we would use the kitchen but made a couple of morning smoothies from local fruit! The bathroom is excellent - there are no issues with water pressure and hot water supply.
All in all - a great location and beautiful property - highly recommended!
Our five nights at 2 Seasons was very relaxing and went without a problem. Nano was extremely helpful. He was willing to arrange anything we required. The location of the property is ideal for a quite retreat. Set amongst the rice fields and very close to the footpaths behind Panestanan. Restaurants and activities were all within easy walking distance.
The property itself was ideal. The pool was clean, clear and cool. The house was spotless with all you need as long as you don't need TV.
We would definitely stay at 2 Seasons again.
Great accommodation (email hidden). Highly recommended.
Nano is lovely to deal with & the house is great. Well located for a quiet stay walking distance to all of the best vegan, vegetarian & organic cafes. The walk to Yellow Flower Cafe is great thru the back of Ubud long walking pathes that take you past villas & rice fields (about 10 minutes).
We had a sensational stay at 2 Seasons. We couldn't believe our eyes when we walked into the villa compound - the house pool and gardens have all been beautifully created in such a tranquil setting. It was the perfect spot to spend nyepi.
Nanu was an amazingly gracious and obliging host - he really bent over backwards to assist us.
Penestanan is a lovely village a short walk from ubud - it has everything you need - infect we didn't venture into ubud as much as we expected because penestanan / and the villa were such a delight.
Can't recommend highly enough.
My friends and I absolutely loved this apartment! We all relaxed the moment we checked in and felt completely renewed when we checked out. The space is clean, comfortable and beautiful, the views are lovely, and the staff are wonderful. They even brought us some fresh rambutan to enjoy on the balcony! Although it is a little bit far from town, the slight inconvenience is completely worth the peaceful atmosphere.
A Perfect Place
We stayed at this villa for a week in March of this year & we loved it! Beautiful house, welcoming & very helpful hosts, 15min walk from the center on Ubud- it was very hard to leave in the end of our vacation.
The airport pick up was arranged by the manager Nano who continued to be easy to reach & quick to deliver for the rest of our stay. He also arranged for our driver when we needed one & any questions/ requests we had were always promptly addressed. & every day we had a bowl of fresh rambutans right off the tree growing in our yard that our hosts picked!:-)
We stayed on the ground floor of the villa & it was wonderful to have a pool just a few steps outside, it really helped with the heat:-) The location itself was very convenient- there were good restaurants just on the corner( local food, coconut bar, Indian, Thai & a very good raw food place about 5min walk, fabulous desserts:-)), affordable & good quality spa 2min away & a walk path through the village of the main road right across from the raw food place. It took about 15-20min to walk into the center of Ubud. We had our 2 year old girl with us & we couldn't use the stroller( there are hardly any sidewalks) & had to carry her in a backpack( in the heat!:-)) but it was manageable & very safe. If you can ride a scooter( we couldn't) getting around will be easier though the traffic can get pretty heavy in town during the day. We went to the beach a few times, there is one that's not busy usually about 30-40min away.
If we come back to Bali we'll definitely come back to this villa!
