I'm a criminal defense attorney living in Washington, DC.
I work for an international organization and I was recently relocated to Washington DC. Spending, together with my girlfriend, our first month in the city at Eugene’s apartment in Logan Circle has been an extremely pleasant experience. This is a sunny, large one bedroom apartment with comfortable wood floors and a well equipped kitchen. We have taken advantage of the oven to cook nice fish and vegetables dishes with ingredients from the Wholefood organic supermarket right next door. In winter, the apartment is warm and the central heating is easy to calibrate and well-functioning. Location is great; there are nice restaurants in P street and a great bohemian atmosphere at 14 street, where you can find a theater, the famous Black Cat concert place and nice bars. If you do not feel like going out, just enjoy watching movies in a huge screen (with projector) and dolby surround sound. In addition, you have a couple of guitars, a selected choice of books and novels, etc. In sum, this is not only a comfortable and convenient apartment, but also a place with great personality. I am glad we decided not to go to a hotel, at Eugene’s we have felt at home.
A coworker and I were in DC for a conference and preferred to find a place with more space than a hotel room. This apartment was perfect in that regard. It has a lot of space, gets a ton of natural light and the while the decor is very very simple - it's a very comfortable place. It's also located adjacent to P street with great restos, grocery stores and bars and a short walk from other fun neighborhoods. Eugene was incredibly accommodating and very proactive with communicating and helping coordinate our arrival and departure.
The only cons with the apartment is that the great open view it has also equates to a decent amount of street noise when the windows are open - a problem easily solved with ear plugs at night. Also, the futon isn't the most comfortable in the word (I lost the coin toss), but is any futon really comfortable?
All in all it's a great space, a fantastic deal and Eugene was great. I'd recommend this apartment and will return here next time I come to DC.
Eugene was very friendly in making arrangements and answered my request and questions very swiftly. I was in need of an apt to handle four women for a tech conference, and his place ended up being a few blocks from the venue -- very convenient also to two metro stations. Everything was exactly as pictured and clean. It also felt very spacious and had a lovely view of the skyline. His guitars are awesome and I believe the acoustic was actually already tuned before our arrival. :) If you are a Porsche fan, there is also a great coffee table book (I miss my old VW/Porsche 914). I really appreciated Eugene mentioning more scenic ways to walk, like Dupont Circle, and suggesting restaurants. Although he was unable to meet us, he was able to accommodate our late arrival very easily by phone. Finally, while at the conference we received word that one hotel in DC had bed bugs, so we were especially thankful for a bug free zone. So, it's not the Ritz-Carlton, but it is a simple, clean and WI-FI friendly place to stay. Thanks, Eugene!
Eugene was great! He answered all the questions we had, and was always there is something came up. During our stay the FOB broke to get into the building and Eugene was quick to come and drop off keys so we would be able to get inside easily!
The apartment is nice and vey big, and in a good neighbourhood with a large grocery store right around the corner.
The apartment was close even to the sights that we were able to walk every morning, but we would take a taxi back at night because we were tired!
The apartment and Eugene were great! I would definitely stay here again and I highly reccommend it!
We had a great stay in this large one bedroom apartment. The location is good, near to two subway stations (different lines) and a bus stop two buildings over. There's also a coffee shop close by and a Whole Foods around the corner.
Eugene was a good host, he showed me around the building and answered all my questions. He answered emails/texts/calls quickly and when there was a problem with the toilet (just one of those things that happens, not his fault) it was fixed the same morning.
The apartment itself has a really large living room with futon, a small but functional kitchen (w/ gas stove) and a good sized bedroom with a desk. I wouldn't say the decor was fancy or that the place was immaculate, but things were neat and tidy and It was very comfortable and functional for our work-cation. Thanks for a great stay Eugene!
