Awesome location, great place, magnificent host.
Joel's place was great and everything was just as described. Joel was also very helpful and there were great notes with instruction and places to see/eat at that were helpful as well. This served as a great base for a few days in DC.
Couldn't have been better or smoother. Joel made my whole stay super easy. The apartment is perfectly setup with great info on the surrounding area, TV and wifi, restaurant recommendations... all questions answered! Flexible with checkin and checkout too. Can't complain at all. Thanks, Joel.
My husband and I had a great stay here. Everything was exactly as described, including Joel as gracious host and Max the cat as head of the welcome committee :). The neighborhood is lovely, with many restaurants and both a Whole Foods and Trader Joe's close by. The national mall/White House/Smithsonian museums are a 12-15 minute walk, as is the conference center.
Very nice place and great neighborhood! Everything was very clean and it was nice to have a lot of little accessories available (eg soap, tea, toilet paper). The host Joel did a great job in being available and offer help if any problems would occur (none occured though...).
Joel could not have made me feel more welcome. He was there when I arrived and made it completely clear that I should not hesitate to contact him if I needed anything. You do need text messaging for this rental :-) The apartment was completely as described, but it took me awhile to explore all of its features...where all the light switches were, what the three different ways I could heat it were, what happened when I opened the other patio door, etc. You need to be prepared to deal with Apple TV as well, but I did not have time to watch anything. The proximity to Whole Foods and other coffee houses and restaurants made it easy to eat my "own" way there. The bed was comfortable, everything as described. If you want to make your own coffee and drink it out of a travel mug, you do need to bring your own, although I figured out that I could get an unused cup and lid from Whole Foods and use that. Proud of myself. Also, there is a wonderful assortment of teas and shampoos and bath gels left by other travelers, but for some reason only a couple of choices of conditioners, so if you are fussy bring your own. Ditto for bar soaps, no one left them but Whole Foods has a world of choices.
I really loved staying here. It was a rush of pleasure to come back each time. I also used Uber for the first time on this trip and this is a perfect place to use it.
This was my first experience with airbnb and it couldn't have been better. Joel was incredibly responsive and helpful. The apartment was clean, easy to access, and centrally located. He even provided a blow dryer, body wash, and shampoos and conditioners, which I had not expected. Wonderful experience in every way.
We enjoyed our stay with Joel very much. The room is perfect and the location could not be better - it's only a 15 min walk to the White House and surrounded by good restaurants. Joel not only had helpful tips for exploring the city but was also very welcoming and friendly. He told us to feel as if we were visiting a good friend and indeed that's really how we perceived it. I was a little worried about my cat hair allergy, but as it turned out, Max, the cute cat living there carries a device that forbids him to enter the guest room. So not even that was a problem. We highly recommend Joel and his apartment and would definitely come back.
Joel was friendly and responsive on email before we arrived. The place was clean and welcoming, and even though Joel had to deal with a plumbing issue, he made sure it was taken care of before we walked in the door. We would definitely stay here again.
Joel is a very polite and friendly person - highly recommended guest. Everything was perfect!
Joel was a great guest. He was very polite and left the apartment very tidy. He's more than welcome to come back and stay again.
Joel was a great guest. Glad to host him
Joel was a delightful guest, quiet and respectful of the house. We would be glad to have him back at anytime.
Joel's crew were wonderful, respectful guests. Joel was great to communicate with -- speedy and efficient and very responsible. I would recommend him as a guest to any host.
Joel was a great guest. He was respectful of the rules and clean. He was a joy to have as a guest. Highly recommend!
Joel is a great guy with a great place to stay in the central, trendy Logan Circle neighborhood of DC. I wasn't quite sure which box to check for this review since Joel is a friend, a colleague, a travel buddy and -- when my house was unavailable - a former AirBnB host.
Joel's apartment has a great open kitchen, a back deck, streaming music and movies, an excellent library of books, a private bedroom, laundry facilities and pretty much any amenity you could conceivably need during a short-term stay. Joel's place is a half block from a Whole Foods Market, Starbuck's, a wide variety of restaurants and bars, a gym, a yoga center, a wine and liquor store, and a number of service providers, including a dry cleaner, bank, hair salon, pharmacy, hardware store, etc. If you stay at Joel's, you'll never need to stray more than a block -- but if you do, you'll be conveniently located for Logan Circle, DuPont Circle, 14th and U Streets, Adams Morgan, downtown DC, the Convention Center, and "the Mall," with all its free museums.
