I love travelling, meeting new people around the world and you gonna have a great stay with me and my family :-)
We very much enjoyed our stay with Joy and his family who were all very warm and welcoming. We stayed in our own private room, one floor above the family, which opens straight into a communal dining and lounge area which includes a kitchen. We were even welcome to use the fridge and utensils, which was useful for us. Joy and his wife were very helpful and approachable, answering any questions we had about the area, what to do etc and even just for a friendly chat. His wife even made us a cup of ginger and honey juice for an upset stomach and did their best to cater to our needs for the breakfasts, as we were unable to eat spicy food at the time. The food was great - tasty omelettes, fruit selections and even some traditional keralan food. Another bonus was that we were able to buy all of our tickets, for local trips and performances etc, directly from Joy (at no extra charge). The location itself is also very good, being within walking distance to the town centre and to local attractions such as the Kathakali centre and the harbour with the Chinese fishing nets. We would definitely recommend staying here.
Had a nice stay at Joy's house. My room was spacious and clean. Joy himself was very accomodating, pointing out the Volvo buses from the airport (which are much cheaper than taking a taxi), picking me up from the bus stop, keeping me company during breakfast. His house is quite centrally located in Fort Kochin but still off the main road in a residential area, so it's quiet at nights.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE HOMESTAY
We stayed at Joy and his family for a little week. From the first day they made sure that we felt like home and took time to help us with any question we had. We were introduced to Joy's wife, father and lovely children.
They also helped us planning trips around Kerala.
The room was clean and good. Wifi connection is best on the balcony.
Delicious varied Kerala breakfast every morning which included a cosy little talk with Joy.
Make sure you close the doors and windows in the late afternoon, or you'll find mosquitos all over the room. They have mosquito nets installed.
Thank you for the best introduction possible to the Kerala culture and atmosphere.
Lazar Residency the house where it is possible to be at the heart of a family more than generous who is open-handed with a big desire for division(sharing). Their wishes: to facilitate us the search(research) for excursions, great show Katakali, etc ...
The situation of this residence is close to any animations and restaurants, easily accessible and however in a quiet side street...
Thank you for the great kéralais breakfasts consisted of delicious fruits and diverse small very nice dishes.
We had a wonderful stay with Joy and his family. It was a treat getting to spend time with them. They were incredibly accommodating and assisted us with coordinating transportation, which was a huge help! We stayed for 2 nights and got to sleep in 2 separate rooms. Both rooms were spacious and clean. Every breakfast was delicious. Lastly, their home is located in an ideal location, just a short walk from the main sites in Fort Kochi.
Joy and his family were very welcoming and friendly, it was very nice to meet them and get to know them a bit.
The room was great- clean and smart! Bathroom very nice too.
It's a nice and quiet place in fort cochin, not far away from several attractions. The family is very friendly and we specially enjoyed the well made keralan breakfast. Thank you!!
Joy and his wife provided a wonderful home away from home. Friendly, clean, and very accommodating. Took care of our two bicycles and were very flexible in meeting my mothers needs when she joined us later. Great value and much nicer than some of the pricier hotels. Highly recommended.
Joy and his wife were incredibly lovely hosts. His wife's cooking is DELICIOUS -- we had it for breakfast each day, but in retrospect we should have asked her to cook us a dinner instead of going out! The room we had (the one downstairs, right off the family home) was basic, but clean and good and comfortably climate-controlled between a fan and a nighttime air-conditioner. We had to be careful not to let mosquitoes in in the evening, but there isn't much to be done about that. Room is an easy walk to all the main sites in Fort Cochin.
Joy and his wife were also very helpful as our travel agents for every aspect of our stay in Cochin. At our request, they booked us taxis to & from the airport, plus a day-long houseboat and rides to & from Alleppey, all for competitive prices and with responsible drivers they had vetted. Indeed, I felt like I had adopted parents away from home, just as concerned about my and my friend's well-being (two young women) as our own parents would be. I would not hesitate to use them again if I found myself back in Kerala -- as I hope I shall be someday! It's a beautiful part of the world.
Joy and his family took very good care of us during our visit in Fort Cochi.
Nice Clean and quiet room with ac. Lovely breakfast and discussions every morning.
