Jean is very welcoming, she made me feel at home very quickly, and having the top floor to myself was definitely a plus !
Jean is a welcoming host, close to local shop and I had a very peaceful nights sleep!
This was a modest accomodation, quite basic, but appropriately priced. Jean was very friendly when we arrived, and had arranged two rooms for three of us. As we were out most of the time, only sleeping there, we had little chance to meet up and chat. there is a fully equipped large kitchen and common living room, which was spacious, but we there was breakfast or tea or milk, so you need to come prepared with provisions.
Jean always takes care of everyone who is staying at her home and will arrange a pleasant stay. On the day you arrive you immediately feel at home. The rooms are as described, no 4 star hotel but a place where you are comfortable. It's also a place, where you can make friends when more rooms are let.
I have stayed at jeans for three weeks , had a nice clean bedroom , good bathroom and kitchen and also sitting area , can honestly say not had a bad nights sleep since I've been there.
The area is queit at night and the local shops are only a minutes walk away which is a bonus and the centre is only 10 mins down the main road. And finally you could not ask for a better host in jean.
Great value for money, Jean was a very friendly host!
Jean is very friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a large bathroom, living room and kitchen for us to use. There are no bars or cafes in the neighbourhood but the city centre is easy to reach.
Jean is a very friendly, hospitable person. She has a big house and even a separate kitchen for the guests. The house is near the sea and close to buses that bring you down town in a few minutes. Really enjoyed my stay!
Jean is really nice and friendly. Was a really nice stay. Will defo consider this place again in our next visit.
stayed overnight on a Saturday at short notice. Jean the host was v friendly & helpful.
The good bits : Location: free & easy parking outside. approx. 2.5 miles to the centre of town, v close to Brickfields for rugby, and walking distance to Royal William and Devils point. Bedrooms very quiet and a very goods night sleep. Large lounge to chill late evening and watch freeview TV. Full & free use of first & second floors
The less good areas : mainly the decorative condition. The house is a Victorian ? terraced house and certain areas are showing their age. The fixtures & fittings in the shower ( first floor), and the kitchen , and carpets in the lounge could do with some attention. They are looking a bit tired. The listing does say its for a traveller on a budget , not 4 star. A few more £ spent could make this place a real gem. If you are looking for a crash pad for the night then this is OK.
This was our first experience of airbnb. In all we paid £101 with fees for in effect two bedrooms - roughly similar to staying in a B&B, or lower end hotel. The advantage of the airbnb set up is that you can just veg as if you were at home. Will try it again.
Jean and Ian are very chatty friendly people.Easy to get on with and are excellent guests.
