Wonderful experience from start to finish! Al was very accommodating at the moment of booking with a great offer, and he was forthcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We communicated mainly through airbnb messages and phone texts and he always replied promptly, with any clarifications we needed. The cottage was lovely and oh-so-cozy for our family of 4 humans and a pooch. My dog loved the fenced-in backyard, and we all enjoyed walks on the beach (2 peaceful blocks away) where the sunsets were spectacular! We love Cape May in every season and we'll be sure to come back to Al's cottage again in the summer. The house is fully equipped with a comfortable kitchen (we cooked in one night) and even has washer/dryer - which we didn't use.
It was our first airbnb experience and I was a bit nervous at venturing into a private home with my two under-9 children and our dog. It could not have turned better! Al is a fantastic host. AMAZING DETAIL: I forgot my laptop in a bedroom drawer; called Al immediately (but we had returned home, 160 mi. away). He offered to bring it half way two days later, so that I could spare an extra 3hr drive! He was just a wonderful person! Thank again, Al!!
So happy you had a nice time Maria, and was very happy to help you with getting your laptop back. :)
We had a great time at Al's place. Three women friends met up for a short weekend, and the price was right! Al always responded promptly to inquiries, and made us welcome with emails without butting in. The house is in a small, quiet neighborhood in an older part of town which we liked. There is a beach within walking distance that has great sunsets. The house was clean and we were able to keep it cozy and warm (we visited the second weekend in November). Cape May is a great place to visit.
Al was super at communicating and answering all questions. Extremely helpful and checked up with us by email to see if everything was okay.
Al was very helpful and tried to keep in touch with us as long as we are going to his place. Although we did not see him, it was not a problem to get to his place.
The apartment was like presented.
Al was always in communication with me, which certainly put me at ease. He was most gracious with his time and an offer that I appreciated . The house was clean, exactly as he describes. It was accommodating, nice deck, fenced yard, grill, quite and the bay with a beautiful sunset two blocks away. There is even a washer and dryer. An easy drive to Cape May beaches, Victorian row and some great shopping downtown. I can certainly recommend this as a place to stay. I'd go back.
Beautiful sunsets and great beaches all around Cape May. Quiet neighborhood and a short walk to the beach.
The cottage worked for our needs. The beds were extra firm so we had problems sleeping at night. The location was close to grocery stores, gas stations, and a 15 minutes drive to the beach. We enjoyed our stay in Cape May.
Everything was so smooth before and during our stay! Al was promptly available for questions prior to arrival and while we were staying! He recommended things to do that were nearby. He also checked in with me the same day we left to make sure I was happy with the stay! I definitely recommend him to others!! The house was clean and the deck with the grill is a wonderful touch!
My family had a great time staying in Cape May! The little cottage was the perfect size for the 4 of us and our dog. We enjoyed the central location for all of our daily adventures around Cape May and Wildwood. We would definitely consider staying here again!
Al was very responsive and helpful. He got ESPN just for us so we could watch the World Cup. The backyard was lovely but the "home" was more of a cottage. There were three coffee mugs and plenty of wine glasses but no regular glasses. Al dropped a few more off later but we had 7 people staying but Solo cups filled the gaps. There were only two bedrooms and a converted porch. The futon is comfortable but probably not ideal of a week long stay. Overall we had a great time and working with Al was not painful. Great cottage for 4 people... definitely not 7.
