The place was wonderful - Vikram's team had us covered!! No rude surprises and a wonderfully smooth experience!
i'm glad pranay's califiornian and indian staff had a chance to relax and brainstorm at kaju varo. they were easy to communicate with and our team would be happy to have them back.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
Kaju Varo is beautiful but needs a good amount of tender love and care, painting, new linen, more light and more cleaning to be able to charge those prices advertised.
The food is excellent and the staff are the Best, friendly and helpful. Thank you Diego and team, we enjoyed our stay thanks to you!!!
We had a wonderful week in Siolim, Goa. The house itself is beautifully laid out, the living areas are wide and suitable for larger groups - we enjoyed the small yet private pool. The living room was ideal for late night movies (we had a small projector that came in handy!). A TV / air conditioning would be a good addition here, especially for guests staying for a week or more as the weather appears to be warm year round. We really liked the bedroom suites, especially the bathrooms! Lots of rain showers were enjoyed here by all. The house comfortably accommodates a group of 6, to extend this to allow for AC accommodation for a larger group, a few changes are needed. It was good to have WiFi access, although the speed and coverage could be improved. Despite the somewhat remote location of the villa ( this is likely more pronounced in the off season), we were able to explore and enjoy the surrounding area. While there were so many good things about this holiday, it is the staff who will we will reminisce about the most. On our days at home, the staff were extremely helpful and their service is definitely one of best features of the property! With their quiet yet ever present service, they elevated the experience for everyone. Alex, with his great cooking, and amazing food decorations, always had good advice - whether it was for the dinner menu or a trip to the market. Vishnu brought us endless refills of ice, and we loved his elegant table settings! The whole team was accessible and exceptionally accommodating. If you go: - Take a chance and go during the off season if more convenient - we had great weather! - Must see : Chapora fort - take a picnic - its a short drive from the house, and ideal for a picnic with breathtaking views over the Arabian sea. - Try the local transport options if practical. - Local grocery - at first sight, these look limited, but are in fact well stocked with goodies if you care to look. Enjoy the simple cakes with tea, great Kwality ice cream, Indian savory snacks. There is a vegetable store, get fresh vegetables for a great salad. The local wine/beer shops are well stocked - a bottle of Bacardi was on sale for under $10! There was even an Indian sweetmeats shops, although we didn't try this. - Mid day hunger pangs: Several shacks near the house make fresh Indian treats around 4 pm - check these out - very reasonable and tasty Samosa and pakoras. Two types of Goan bread is available fresh everywhere and is very tasty. - If possible, take a movie projector and lots of downloaded content. This is great for an after dinner movie in the living room. Use the in house amplifier / speakers for a theater like experience! - Enjoy the staff cooked meals - they really are very good. -...
We loved our stay in this little house in the trees. Would highly recommend it for lovers of nature who want easy access to the beach, without having to live among the crowd and who are happy to have the outdoors be brought inside a little. We thoroughly enjoyed going to sleep to the sound of the sea and awaking to a chorus of different bird calls from all around (and often wondering across the canvas roof above our heads!) Showering under shards of morning sunlight was a particular highlight! We also loved the delicious food produced for us by the extremely attentive and friendly staff.
Travelling to Goa with a group of 11 students from the Architectural Association in London, we wanted to stay in a place with character that would be our point of departure for exploring Goa. We found the perfect solution in Kaju Varo and Noi Varo.
The students loved the former for its array of unique structures each with a personality of its own while affording them privacy with a central area for collective discussion. We, the tutors, stayed in Noi Varo which was simply stunning and luxurious with high-ceilinged rooms, state of the art bathrooms and relaxing common areas with a private lap pool. It was the ideal retreat after long days exploring the Goan landscape.
The staff at both properties were so helpful and kind; finding us transportation, offering suggestions of where to go and making us delicious food and drinks. (We couldn't get enough of the delicious tea!)
Vikram and Loise also went out of their way to come meet with us and explain how they had developed the two properties and built the many unique buildings of Kaju Varo and restored the villa at Noi Varo - a talk we all found insightful and inspirational.
All in all, we had a brilliant trip and we hope we can come back to visit again!
Absolutely amazing place. Staff are so accommodating and will help you with anything you could possibly want or need. The accommodation and complex itself is fantastic - really close to nature. And by a beautiful beach. Can't wait to go again!
Kaju Varo is a fantastic property that can serve as your home base in Ashwem/North Goa.
Vikram was very responsive and accommodated our needs for a family reunion during the reservation process.
Diego, Gopal, Prashant and the other guys were fabulous as on-site managers, chef and hosts. Their Goan cooking was super yummy. Try the stuffed mackerel, bhindi (okra) and grilled prawns in Goan style.
HIghly recommend Kaju Varo for a full take over or just a single villa rental. It's walking distance to Ashwem beach, restaurants and even some late night bars/clubs.
Hope to be back!
glad to hear you had a good time. do come back. all the best vikram
Kaju Varo was an incredibly wonderful villa. We booked the entire place for our post-wedding celebrations and everyone was very impressed with the quality of service, the sophistication and elegance of decor and the all-round feeling of luxury. And the chef was probably the best part of the entire experience - he cooked us up meal after fabulous meal - a real treasure of a place. Will definitely return!
