Enjoy the outdoors, travel and being with my family and friends. That's what it's all about!

This house was a gamble for us but we definitely felt like we hit it well. We used the house for a meet up place for us and a group of friends for the long memorial day weekend. The beds were very comfortable, the house was charming, and the deck was certainly a highlight and primary hang out spot for us.
Parking was a bit of a challenge and the hill is no joke, but those 2 factors just added to the adventure for us. We certainly felt like we got our money's worth and then some. We would definately return to this spot! Jon was very easy to work with and quick to respond when we had questions.
This house was perfect! like camping in the mountain! very accomodating and such a good location to see all the sights in South Dakota
Uhm... We picked this place because of the nice reviews and people writing that it was clean and provided with all you needed. My husband and I love old houses so we were excited about to try and stay in Lead. Well, the steep hill is one thing but if you have already read the reviews you are prepared for that, but for starters the house had a funky smell of cats and mold. It seemed like nobody had been there for ages. The floors were dirty with dust balls. The towels had a really awful smell so we didn't want to use them as well as the kitchen towels and the dish washer cloth was falling apart so it was difficult doing the dishes. Almost all the windows were sealed with plastic so we couldn't use them and open them and in general it seemed like the house was falling apart, like the surrounding houses that were beeing torn dorn. But the porch was nice and had a nice view and there were some very nice neighbors that came over with wine and kept us company.
We thought it was wayyyy too expensive.
The bungalow was the perfect size and setting for our family. We enjoyed the front porch and the view it offered. On our first morning at the bungalow we opened up the blinds to see a deer and two of its offspring. Great way to start off the day. The amenities were just the right amount. The hardest part of the trip was getting up and down the hill to the house but it is well worth it if you are willing to make the trip. Loved it and would definitely stay again! Thank you Jon!
The house is a great stay and the Bosworths have provided everything necessary for guest comfort. I loved the view, and we spent a lot of time just sitting on the porch and watching the sky. At one point several deer passed through the front yard! Of course it's a bit of a hike to get to so I highly recommend parking a few streets above the house and then walking down, especially if you have luggage. We really didn't mind the steepness at all though and it made the place feel more like a cabin getaway. The location is perfect for anything Deadwood or Black Hills. We loved it!!
Very nice place to stay, plenty of room for 4 or more adults. Thank you! Jim
My friends and I absolutely LOVED staying at Jon's Bungalow. It was absolutely perfect for our needs. Comfortably fit 4 people. Clean linens were provided along with a fully equip kitchen (we were able to grill on the porch one night).
Be warned that this place is on an extremely steep hill in an area with lots of one way streets. We were able to park a street or two over and walk to the bungalow which worked out perfectly.
Jon was very accommodating and allowed us to bring our two small dogs (under the condition that we cleaned up after them) which made the trip much more enjoyable. The house was exactly as described and the fireworks show from the patio over the fourth of July was spectacular (thanks to Jon for the tip).
You can definitely tell that the house is more than 100 years old, so if you find that kind of thing charming (as we did) then you should enjoy yourself at this little spot, which makes a great home base for time in the Black Hills area.
The Lead Bungalow was fully equipped with all of the necessary amenities to settle in for a cozy visit. We enjoyed being able to cook our own meals and lounge on the porch. It felt like a home away from home.
Jon (email hidden) and even turned on the heat to warm up the place before our arrival. Thanks!
We enjoyed having the Bosworths stay at our little corner of paradise. We hope they warmed up from their trip from the frozen north! Jon is welcome to return anytime.
