I'm DeShawn Harden! I'm an IT, providing systems, server, and network tech support in Denver.
Generally, I consider myself to be much more of a traveler than a tourist. San Francisco's one of my favorite cities, but I've never been to the Golden Gate Bridge/Park or anything like that. Instead, the more mundane aspects of a city impress me much more - groceries stores (woo hoo Trader Joe's), libraries, yoga classes, jogging, swimming pools, beer/wine bars and restaurants.
When i go to a city, I like to do things that allow me to "soak up" what the city's lifestyle really reflects. That's difficult to do in downtown/touristy areas, so I prefer to steer clear of them and bask in a city's normalcy.
For instance, my picture shows me holding my first ever blue crab! I went to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, stayed with a friend's family, and learned how open/clean/cook my first crab! The French Quarter could never make me smile in such ways :)
As a freelance IT, I like to work in other cities to get an additional of a city's culture, so I shouldn't be in your hair that much.
Ultimately, I'm always happy to absorb and embrace other perspectives on any urbanite's mundane adventures.
