My husband Mark, and I, have an 8 month old boy called Art and a 12 yr old daughter, Maebh. I am presently a stay at home mom after finishing up my recent position in a street theatre company called Macnas.
I also recently received certification for Accounting exams. My husband and I both have B.A.s in Media and Irish(he), Geography(me). He is also an interior designer, a skill he brings to the family business in which he works - a paint shop in Galway.
I have had a variety of extra courses which have led to an eclectic collection on my CV! - Yoga, Massage Therapist, TEFL and Special Needs Assistant!!
We have been to many European destinations, but my favourite travel experience is when I stayed for 6 months in India with Maebh (daughter). I went back twice after, but to stay in an ashram and to do training in yoga and massage styles. I know my husband's favourite 'travel' experience was his time spent living in Brazil. He worked as a TEFL teacher.
Maebh deserves a bit of mention as she has quiet a lot going on too - she does gymnastics, ballet level 4, circus skills - and is an accomplished stilt walker, aerial trapeze acrobat and has been on National media for her unicycle abilities. She also plays fiddle, camogie (hurling) and Gaelic football and attends an Irish Speaking School. She is about to embark on studying Spanish and French this year.
Art - well, he's a bundle of 8 month old energy - and has just accomplished crawling. He insists on walking too - by holding onto whomever will stoop down to help! He's a fine messy eater - so this is where we're at with trying to maintain a clean house!
We consider ourselves to be independent thinkers and not just do the same thing everyone else is doing. We definitely don't always make things easy for ourselves!
We try to be environmentally friendly by choosing a lot of eco friendly products. We are not eco warriors though, so we just try to put thought into our purchases and we use a vinegar solution spray for cleaning. Also baking soda etc so no harsh nasty chemicals.
