I was new to airbnb and, after our airbnb stay in Rome, am a convert. The rooftop apartment is beautiful, with a gorgeous terrace overlooking the city -- the perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after a day of sightseeing. In a quiet part of Trastevere, but easily accessible to all of Rome, it was a highlight of our trip. Thanks Raffael for a wonderful stay!
We stated at Raf's place, the apartment was very nice and had an amazing view of Rome. The main bedroom was very comfortable and there were two separate bathrooms. It worked out well for the most part. Although other reviews mentioned they did not have difficulty getting to the tourist areas I did have difficulty finding good public transport options. When I looked at Google for directions we always had to walk a fair amount to a bus stop. I must confess that the only reason this was difficult is because I was traveling with my mother. Also the other bedroom is a bit uncomfortable. There is futon and a second bedroom that is not very comfortable. Overall these things are workable.
Overall this was a very positive experience. There are several restaurants 5 to 10 minute walk from the apartment. The other very positive thing was that we had a car and there was street parking readily available which meant that we did not have to pay for parking.
Raffaele's apartment is exactly as described and very stylishly furnished. The terrace is very large with wonderful views right across the city. The apartment has an excellent kitchen with everything one could expect for a relaxed and pleasant stay. The building is very secure and has a cute old fashioned lift. Being just off the via trastavere it could not be better situated, in easy walking distance of all the 'hot spots' of Rome, transport links could not be better with a tram lune right outside. Excellent shops and markets in mins distance. I cant think of anything I wasn't happy with. Raf and Josy were very helpful and enquired as to how my trip was going and if I needed anything. They say "see Rome and die" and it lives up to its name of the Great Beauty! A fantastic stay, I would be happy to stay again as soon as I can.
The place was fantastic! Great space for two people (or I'd say up to 4 if you have kids as there is a spare bedroom). Location is in a great neighborhood in its own right - very pretty streets and good bars, shops and restaurants. As the ad says the tram is right outside the house, and the main Trastevere station is only three stops away. We didnt bother with the tram to walk to the historic city center - the walk across the river is lovely and getting to the Pantheon is less than 30 mins.
The flat itself was perfectly clean and had a welcoming interior, plus it has an amazing, massive terrace overlooking the city on the 7th floor that is jaw-dropping. We spent every evening out there drinking wine before heading out for the night. I didnt meet the owner, but he sent someone to let me in and as my flight came in at 6am, was flexible enough to have someone meet me there before the check-in time, which was great. I would absolutely recommend the place.
The apartment exceeded expectations for a two week stay - clean, modern and complete with all amenities including wifi and clothes washer. Check in was easy and we were greeted by Josie on behalf of Raffaele. Location in Trastevere was ideal, close to attractions, transport, good restaurants and shopping - and the view from the terrace was outstanding. Will definitely stay here again.
It is a very nice apartment with a big terrace offering a fantastic view of the city. It is located in a good area with not too many tourists around) Thank you Raffaele

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely apartment in Rome. The neighborhood is great and right across the street from the tram that takes you into central rome for access to sight seeing. It is walking distance to the Trestevere piazzas, full of life, energy, good food and bars.
Contrary to what other reviewers mentioned, we did not feel it was loud in the evenings at all and thought it was a nice quiet pleasant street. The bathrooms are clean and modern. We never did meet him but he sent his friends to welcome us on the first day and also to check us out on the last day. The terrace was definitely our favorite part of the whole place, nice and big with a great view. We loved having breakfast outside and also to enjoy a nice bottle of wine after a long day of walking around. It was great that the place had an elevator as we had a stroller with us.
The apartment does not have internet as advertised, but we got free wifi at Coffee Time bar around the corner. Also, although there was AC in the second room, the master bedroom was cool at night with fan and windows open which was very comfortable.
All in all, highly recommended!
A clean, modern apartment with a nice kitchen and a spectacular terrace. The view does not disappoint!
We were two couples staying in the apartment together, so having two full bathrooms was great. It is a nice roomy apartment and we felt like we had plenty of space. The location is good, a short walk to good restaurants, bars and shops. Near a busy street, but being so high up we weren't bothered by noise.
We didn't meet Raffaele - he had a friend meet us for check-in and check-out, but everything went smoothly. Raffaele was very flexible with check-in and check-out times which was really helpful for us. He even let us book an extra day at the last minute. He is a really accommodating host!
The only negative, which for us was a big drawback, is that there is no internet in the apartment. This is mentioned in the listing, so it was our fault for not reading it close enough. But lack of internet is the reason the apartment gets four stars instead of five from us.
But overall this is a great apartment and we definitely recommend it!
It was nice, that Raffaele was there when we arrived, though our flight was little latein the evening. From the apt in and especially from the terrace you have a very nice view over the city. Nice, that there are two modern bathrooms. As it is at the mainstreet of Trastevere it is quite loud in the night. But this might be usual in many corners of Rome.
Rafael and his wife are very friendly. I'm very shame because I could not stay at home due to an emergency trip to Colombia. I practically leave them alone at home. Hope you enjoyed your stay in Ecuador!. Bon voyage and are always welcome. :-)
I got to know Raffaele, Caterina and Michele as incredibly polite and friendly folks and it was my pleasure hosting them. They really were the perfect guests.
They took care for the apartment as it were their own and they left it in spotless condition.
They were very enthusiastic, charming, attentive and friendly. It was fun to meet them, it is always a pleasure to open my apartment to such positive and vibrant people!
I certainly hope our paths will cross again and would wholeheartedly recommend them for any future hosts.
Thank you very much for everything!
