Camila's private room in Rosales was perfect for my three day stay in Bogota. The apartment is immaculately clean, very secure and tastefully/comfortably furnished. The building is within walking distance of some of the best restaurants in the city and is in close proximity of Carrera Septima.
The experience was overall great. Camila was out of town, but made arrangements to get me into the building. She also went above and beyond to secure a car to the airport for my midnight departure.
I would highly recommend Camila and her lovely Rosales flat.
This was my second time staying at Camila's. It was just as nice a stay as the first time. This time I was able to see more of the neighborhood. It is really nice (with many great restaurants, coffee shops and parks) which affirms how perfectly situated it is.
The apartment is great and Camila is a wonderful host.
I really love this place!
Me and my 2 female friends had a wonderful 3 nights at Camila's home. We felt very safe and had a great time swimming, exploring the island and watching the sunset. We made a day trip to a uninhabited island where the snorkeling was amazing and the beaches where gorgeous. The house itself is simple but spacious.
Paloma is very friendly and cooks delicious meals. It is very helpful if one person in your group speaks good Spanish as Paloma does not speak a word of English.
Also- make sure you know the exact location of where the private boat will pick you up in Cartagena. Our Taxi driver got confused and we would have had a hard time finding the boat had we not had a working cell phone. Camila picked up the phone and helped us out immediately.
For sure recommend this airbnb!
I enjoyed very much Camilla's place. The bed is comfortable and a private bathroom is only for your own use. Camilla is a great host and always helpful with tips and giving useful advice. The neigbourhood area is very quiet and safe - near to the financial district, and close to Zona G where you can find nice cafe's, restaurants and bars. If I come back to Bogota I will definitely stay at Camilla's place again.
Camila was very helpful and provided great assistance when i arrived to Bogota. She helped organize to have someone pick me up at the airport and bring me to the apartment. She also provided great tourist information. Her apartment was very clean and exactly what i expected. It is also located in a very good part of the city.
Camila's apt is great. It is the perfect space in a great part of town. The area is scenic, safe and central. The price is great especially as it included my own private bathroom.
Camila is a great host. She was always available for anything I needed, even though she was busy, and was even kind enough to invite me out. She even arranged a car to take me to the airport. I would definitely stay here again!
Thanks to Camila's help with all the necessary information and insights we had an amazing time at the island!
It's indeed a perfect retreat to find rest in a tropical paradise that couldn't be different to our usual urban stress..
Paloma was extremely helpful and nice, she's a great cook and well connected.
Only one thing we regret; not to stay longer:-)
Thanks Camila, highly recommended!!
Camila was great and very responsive! The island itself was unbelievably lovely and very remote. A perfect place to completely unplug (but still have outlets for those of us who need to recharge a Kindle/Ipad for book-binging). I spent a LOT of time swaying on the hammock, snoozing and reading. As some have noted, there isn't too much to do right on the island (though we did not take part in any of the suggested day trips), but that was exactly what we were looking for. The place itself is very simple, but comfortable. No double beds, no hot water. Oh, and we did not have any problem with bugs (thankfully, as we forgot to buy/bring repellent). The neighbors were a bit annoying with their loud music, but it went on just during one of the days we were there. We were going to ask Paloma or Alejandro to see if they could turn it down if it had gone on another day (as Camila has suggested doing), but the neighbors ended up leaving the next day anyways.
Paloma was amazing! She was very kind and helpful, and her cooking was terrific. We really loved all of the meals--especially the fresh fish and (website hidden) at the little store is cheap, but if you want wine or anything else, I would plan on bringing yourself.
It was a bit of an adventure to get to, but not too difficult (and I think some of the confusion may have been because of my not-great Spanish). We did not have to wait 3 hours, as some have suggested: we got to the Basurto dock around 730/745, managed to find the fellow negotiating the boat situation very easily, and waited until about 830 or so to take off. The guys running the boat made us get off the boat so that they could go pay a tax (I think) and pick up some other folks. Not sure why we had to do that, but it wasn't a big deal. Ended up getting to the island well before eleven. Ride back very easy, though the boat was very crowded. Paloma seemed to think we were ripped off for being made to pay 70.000 (on the way there) rather than 60.000, but we were prepared to pay that because of all the food/water we were lugging.
All in all, a great experience--and very unique, in my limited Airbnb experience. Unlike some places I have stayed, the pictures really are an accurate representation of what it is like. Perfect excursion to escape a bit from the bustle of Cartagena. I would love to go back and am recommending it to all of my friends!
Exelentes huespedes nos sentimos bastante a gusto con su visita y siempre estará a su disposición La Casa del Árbol.
I am a close friend of the house owner. This is my favorite place in the universe, and I visit as often as I can! We always celebrate New Year´s Eve at the house. It is an amazing spot, I´ve had the chance of traveling to many exotic locations in the world, and this is truly unique. The porch is right next to a calmed and warm ocean. The lack of electricity makes of sunset and the first hours of night a magical moment, and the sense of being in a tiny island in the Caribbean make of this place the perfect spot for vacations. If you visit, let yourself go into the island experience, don´t expect to eat fancy food, just enjoy the wonderful food of Paloma, which is coconut rice and fresh fish. Ask her for the fish soup made in coconut water!
We stayed for an incredible five days at this house. The location is insanely beautiful, the house is charming. This is a perfect place to get away from it all. Very basic amenities but extremely comfortable. Nights of fresh fish and beer brought from bogota, yoga on the dock in the morning, refreshing swims in the afternoon. What more could you ask for? Remember to bring everything with you as there is no way to get anything you forgot.
