Jennet has a very sweet home, beautifully decorated and cosy. Convenient location, bus 41 can take us to any of the main attractions. There is also a sainsbury store near home, handy for food and drinks, but you may not need them because Jennet will prepare you a heartily breakfast:) love this house, hope that I could stayed longer! Definitely a recommendation for anyone who still hesitating
It was the second time I stayed with Jennet. It being wintery cold outside, the welcome to the house was warm, and she had done everything to ensure I would not be cold by putting an extra heater and additional blankets.
I enjoyed this stay again very much; Jennet was very responsive, and helpful prior to and during my stay. The house is full of atmosphere, and the room and sanitary facilities very comfortable. Coming back to the same place, for me made it even more homely, and it was nice to see Jennet again.
Of course, I discovered new things in the neighbourhood and appreciated the location and accessibility of Jennet's house, and the vibe of the hood even more. I would definitely come back a third time!
It is a great location. Quiet to rest after a long day, but close to the central attractions and all the fun that the city can offer. Jennet is a kind and open host with a good taste in food, so the breakfast choices are great - healthy and good quality food.
One however should take into consideration, that the room is an integral part of the house and and you hear the everyday life noises, as well as you can be heard if your tone of voice exedes a calm conversation.

Jennet was very welcoming and helpful. The accommodation was a very good location for our needs and very typically Edinburgh in its architecture. The apartment was very convenient, being on the ground floor and all on one level - also very peaceful and quiet. Jennet's home is very interesting and stylish.
We enjoyed the underfloor heating in the bathroom!
Arriving in the cool and drizzly dark (25 minutes taxi ride from the airport), Jennets place was warm, cosy and 'homy'. Prior to and during my stay, Jennet was very communicative by email or text, and helpful in providing tips and booking a taxi.
The house was very conveniently located, just south of the Meadows, and walking distance to the city centre. The neighbourhood is quiet, although lived in by a good number of students too, and has it's very own atmosphere, with a few independent shops nearby, and a couple of pubs.
The house breaths 'adventure'; it is clear she has been traveling all over the world. The bathroom is great; modern, with floor heating and a divine shower. That contrasts with the style of the dining and rented bedroom, which have a more early last century feeling, with wooden floors and high ceilings. The mattress is hard, which I liked!
Breakfast was self service, with a good choice of home made jams, and most mornings, Jennet left a bowl of delicious seasonal fruit salad.
I really enjoyed my stay at Jennets'!
Easy going host, Jennet made me feel welcome as well as let me get on with things as I wanted. Nice house with charm.

Jennet' apartment is in a terrific location -- we were able to walk everywhere and see everything on foot. Plus the neighborhood has three good grocery stores and restaurants. The bed was really comfortable with a lovely comforter. Breakfast was nice, with a good choice of cereal and yogurt plus bread and a different fruit everyday. Jennet herself was welcoming and helpful, and provided us with good ideas for sightseeing. I greatly appreciated her helpfulness and efficiency.
My wife, Vania, and I spent 8 days in Edinburgh at Jennet's place and it was absolutely perfect! Her place is very well located, just 15 minutes walking to Old Town, or a 5 minutes bus ride. The neighborhood is quiet, pretty and has all you need as markets and small restaurants (Café Italia and Toast, just few meters far are great for a light meal, pizza or just a desert). And Jennet is a great host! Nice conversations, great breakfast and always available to provide information and advices about the city and around! Whenever coming back to Edinburgh, this is the place we want to stay!
I have know Jennet all my life. She is a very kind women, with a very big heart. I have no doubt that any visitor would have a great time staying in her beautiful flat, which is in a great location and withing walkin distance to many of Edinburgh's wondeful attraction.
I have known Jennet since we were at primary school. She is a really interesting person, very reliable, a fabulous cook (always happy to come foraging for wild foods with me) and has been a great lifelong friend. Jennet always knows what is going on in town: films to see, shows to watch in the Festival, world music concerts, restaurants, etc so if you're stuck for ideas for things to do, Jennet is sure to have some suggestions. Her flat is lovely too, with unusual photos and objects she has collected on her travels, and really handy for getting into the City Centre - you can easily walk it across The Meadows - and it is a nice part of town. It also has a pleasant garden at the back you can sit out in if the weather's nice.
I have known Jennet for many years, and often stayed with her when she was living 'down south'. She is a wonderful host and a great person. I'm sure any visitors would enjoy their stay with her.
I've known Jennet for over 10 years now and she has lived here in Edinburgh for longer than I have. She is very knowledgeable about the city so able to help guests with plans or advice on what to do around the city. She loves the movies (particularly world movies as she is very well travelled). Her home is a reflection of her travels; full of interesting artefacts she has collected en route.
She lives in a popular part of the city (Marchmont) which is easily accessible by public transport and is also walkable from the city centre.
The flat is spacious and comfortable - I'd be very happy to stay there if I was a visitor to Edinburgh!
