Lorenzo's place was the absolute best accommodations we had in Egypt. He and his staff were wonderfully warm and welcoming. He gave us a free upgrade to a room overlooking the Red Sea. We were able to walk to the Blue Hole for fantastic snorkeling. Food in the restaurant was tasty and a welcome change from the usual Egyptian (website hidden) was readily available.
We had a most relaxing time and wished to have stay longer. We were left alone to chill unlike some other places on airbnb in Egypt that kept trying to make us spend more money on tours, meals, shopping, etc.
Thanks for the generous hospitality Lorenzo! You're a cool dude!
The resort is a wonderful oasis in otherwise bustling Egypt. The service is excellent, honest and positive. A nice restaurant with decent prizes (please try their smooth feta cheese). You can walk to the blue hole (good place to dive and snorkel) but you need a taxi (25 EGP) to get to the center. The room we had was light and had a wardrobe and a fridge. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was nice and clean. There are plenty of toilets in the pool area. Nice sun chairs around the pool where we enjoyed sun from early morning til late afternoon. The pool contains salt water - it's a good thing to bring some swimming glases. You can borrow some scuba equipment for a low prize if you wish to discover the rich sea life.
You are close to the beach - don't forget to bring some shoes to wear in the water since it's quite stoney.
The resort is run by Lorenzo and Federica - you might meet either of them on arrival. There is plenty of staff - all very professional and positive.
Dahab is such a nice place to visit. We arrived in Sharm and got a taxi for 150 EGP to Dahab (90 min drive). In Dahab we really enjoyed the peace and calm. Great air, decent prizes, excellent diving (Sinai divers backpackers), good food and a peaceful attitude. Once you discover the local food you will find inexpensive street food just five minutes from the beach restaurants.
When traveling to the airport in Sharm consider arriving two hours before departure. It's a 90 minutes drive more or less - and costs about 200 EGP.
