Britt's place was, as described, very cozy and cute. Britt's attention to detail in decoration is fabulous. Also, the flat is in the middle of the East Village, the loveliest neighbourhood on Manhattan. Two streets away from the energic Mark's place or the fancy Lafayette street.
Britt was a good guest and left us and a bunch of good addresses for bars and restaurants. We had a lovely time !
Britt's place was awesome!!!!
Her spot was in a great place in East Village, close to many subway stations, shops, restaurants, small theatre's and karaoke. When we arrived the place was spotless, she had clean towels and I could tell that she had thoughtfully arranged the living space for visitors. We met her briefly upon arrival and she was very friendly and accommodating. When I asked for some restaurant recommendations she told me that she'd already sent me an email with a bunch of her favourite places.
I would definitely stay here again while visiting New York!!
Britt was a wonderful host. The place was cute and clean. She was very responsive and made the entire process seamless. I would recommend staying with Britt if ever coming to NYC.
I just spent 3 days in NYC and loved Britt's apartment. It's an artsy studio located on a nice street, where one feels safe and close to everything. There's a kitchen, bathroom, a real bed and 2 windows overlooking small backyards, so it's very quiet and there's a good amount of natural light. Britt was very helpful and accommodating; I arrived an hour later than expected from JFK but she waited for me with the keys and some great tips about the East Village. She let me check out at noon on the last day and was the most gracious host. I would definitely stay there again in the future!
Britt and her friend were excellent guests. They were friendly, courteous and left the house in great condition. I would highly recommend them!
It is close to the subway, has all necessary amenities and in a good part of town
Looking forward to staying at her place again sometime
This was my first AirBnB experience, and unfortunately, it wasn't great. Finding the place, check-in and getting inside all went smoothly. The apartment is in a good neighborhood, but wasn't super close to public transportation, which made getting around a little less convenient than other neighborhoods. It was cute, and nicely decorated. However, it was not at all clean. There were no clean linens for the beds, the toilet was dirty, water and hair on the countertops/ in sink, floor was covered in dust bunnies, dirty kitchen counter with stuff spilled on the countertop, grimy/ sticky spots on the fridge/ handle.
After sending a message to Britt asking about clean linens/ towels, we never heard back from her for the remainder of the trip ( until we were checking out and she had to let us know where to leave the key). We had to spend money and time the first day to clean the kitchen and bathroom, so that we could use it. For the price that we paid, we might as well have stayed in a clean hotel! We were really disappointed that the place hadn't been cleaned a bit prior to our stay.
Wasn't the best first experience:/
Awesome place, great host!
Look no further if you're looking for a nice apartment in a great neighborhood! The apartment is on the first floor, so no stairs to climb with all your suitcases. The East Village is a fantastic, lively neighborhood with lots of restaurants and bars and the apartment is less than a 5 minute walk away from the subway. Although the apartment is situated in the middle of a lively area, the apartment is very quiet and you hardly hear any outside noise.
Britt is a very nice and good host and she is very flexible concerning check-in and check-out. When we had a problem with the toilet, she immediately called a plumber to fix it. When we returned to our apartment later that day, the problem was fixed.
I would definitely recommend this apartment to every couple looking for a nice, affordable apartment in a fantastic neighborhood!
Britt's place was perfect fpr our New York trip. There are some nice restaurants just next to it and the next subway station is about 5 minutes walk. Her appartement was very clean and has everything it needs. We would absolutely stay there again.
staying at britt's place was fantastic. i requested the reservation with very little advanced notice, because another airbnb renter had canceled my reservation at the last minute! britt hadn't planned on making her place available for the dates that i needed, but took the time to see if she could work something out, and she was nice enough to be able to accommodate me. meeting up with her couldn't have been easier, and she was very flexible about my departure time.
her place is cute and immaculate. i love that the bathroom actually gets some fresh air- a rarity in nyc! the neighborhood is terrific.
if you're someone who really needs a lot of natural light, know that because her place is on the ground floor, it doesn't get a lot. however, not having to lug a suitcase up the stairs is pretty terrific. the bed faces the interior of the block, so it's very quiet, with no street noise. this is good in the east village, which can get pretty riotous over the weekends.
i couldn't be happier with my stay at britt's place, and will definitely hope to stay there again, when i need to be in manhattan!
Britt and her co-worker were excellent guests. They were friendly, courteous and left the house in great condition. I would highly recommend them!
