Oak 112 is an upscale hostel located in the Gold Coast neighborhood of Chicago.
This place is a total gem. We had a wonderful time! We booked a private room en suite and it exceeded our expectations. Comfortable beds with clean linens/towels and a good sized en suite with no shortage of hot water. Very simple and modern. We didn't spend much time in the commons area, but it was well decorated and cozy. There is a small kitchen area (don't forget to label your items!) and simple breakfast and snack items provided. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood feels safe and secure. It's within walking distance of basically everything. Free parking was a total perk. Perfect location, perfect lodging. Definitely will be staying here again.

Oak 112 was perfect. I stayed there for over 10 days for an extended trip and it was perfect. The rooms were small but very clean, friendly, cozy and comfortable. The location was perfect, within walking distance for everything. I plan to stay here every time I visit the city. The internet was a little slow at times but the 24/7 breakfast and nicely furnished living room were great.
I was so happy to find this a LGBT-friendly place to stay!
I've been there last week, I had a very nice time! Staff was very kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good too. I stayed at the dorm in the last floor...it was hot, and the air conditioner was very noicy. Also, bathroom and room were very clean. The location is excelent! I would definetelly recommend it.
I stayed 2 nights on the 4th floor, women only dorm for 6 people. The bathroom was clean and the room was clean. One of the girls didn’t like the A/C unit and turned it off because she thought it was too loud, but I didn’t mind it. So, there are 2 windows you can open to get some air, but because it’s the 4th floor and heat rises, it’s the hottest room in the hostel. They have central air conditioning in the building, but you have to have it turned on in the day to make sure the room is cool at night, especially the summer. The type of people staying at the hostel are super cool and from different countries. I loved that.
I loved the free bagels/cereal/Milk/Coffee/OJ/Tea they have all day long!
I love the front desk staff, super helpful. The location is ideal.
The Clark/Division area is sketchy at night, so I used a taxi-cab service at night.
The second night, a girl was not responding to her cell phone alarm and it kept ringing again and again. That was annoying!
The hostel was great and I would stay there again if I came back to Chicago.
The location is really good. It's close to Michigan street. We enjoyed the cozy room so much. The house provides breakfast in the morning as well.
Very friendly and helpful staff! It's clean too!
My stay was very brief but I had a great time! Check in/out is super easy, the entire place was very clean and the person at the desk was great. I wish I got to stay longer!
This was my first time using airbnb, and it was very easy and well organized. The location was convenient to two bus lines and the red line, which made it a very good base for getting around, and the neighborhood seemed safe. I appreciated having a big bathroom with good lighting and mirrors. It seemed very new and clean, the breakfast was good, and the kitchen was even open all day.
