This studio apartment is nestled between the business district and the tenderloin. There are no windows that you can open, but a fan is provided for air circulation. Gary, the host, is extremely professional and timely in his responses via telephone and email. He went above and beyond in satisfying our needs. He was flexible with scheduling conflicts and is a host who takes great pride in his work.
Gary's place is in a lovely location. It is private, large and simple but everything you need. I never meet Gary but he is wonderful on giving instructions on how to reach his place and access it. Bring your walking shoes, you will want to explore this neighborhood and if you like stairs for exercise the neighborhood has many pathways with stairs going up up up along with hills that will raise your heart-rate. I am looking forward to another visit.
Gary was friendly, flexible and helpful. He kindly offered to delay leaving for some errands so he could meet us in person and show us the place. The entrance is utilitarian but the room is cozy and nice.
We had a good night sleep on the excellent mattress, and this location was perfect for a home base to have a night on the town. We knew the neighborhood would be gritty, but we never felt unsafe.
Gary was very helpful the entire time as we tried to find the place. Once there my parents and i found a very friendly host. We were very satisfied with our experience.
Gary met me and showed me to his apartment. He showed me where everything was and the best way to get in and out at various times during the day and evening. The location was perfect for me as my daughter lives just a few blocks away, but fair warning -- it is near the Tenderloin section of San Francisco so you will see a bit of everything while there. The apartment was clean and very quiet with a wonderful shower. It gave me everything I needed for my week-long stay.
Adequate room for a crash pad. Knew the location and what to expect, so wasn't surprised. Room had plenty of natural light. There were very few amenities - no silverware, shampoo, body soap, etc. Wouldn't stay here for multiple nights, but it was perfect for a cheap stay.
Gary & his wife were super cool and hospitable. He showed us a bit around the area & made sure we were taken care of, despite our situation being in a slight state of flux. The apartment was nice, clean and we could tell they do laundry on all the sheets & towels daily. It was the perfect crash spot for my friends & I after a concert.
Gary was a great host. He stopped by to recommend a few restaurants before we checked out. Check in instructions were easy to follow: one lock pad, and two key codes. There is also garage parking for $14 all day, which is cheap for SF. There is no hair dryer for the ladies. I would rent this place again.
GAry was friendly and helpful throughout. Especially considering my flight to SF arrived near midnight!
I live in downtown LA, so this place felt right at home. This place is two blocks from the Westfield Shopping center in Union Square and also where the Cable Car ends. You can take it all the way up to Fishermans Wharf for a small fee of $6!! It gives you a good tour of the city in about half an hour! Great tip: if there is two or less people in your group you can use "Uber Pool" and it's only a flat rate of $7 anywhere in the city and $15 straight to SFO!! But you may share with other passengers, so just keep that in mind. The place looks like the pictures, but no stove- I didn't notice that, has a coffee maker and microwave. There is a grocery store a block away, you'll need to pick up drinks and coffee and coffee filter if you are like me that needs her daily coffee! I did request an iron and blow dryer that Gary provided the day of. The host Gary was really nice and met us up at the Civic Center/ 7th St entrance from the Bart. You can take the Bart straight from the airport avg. time is 40mins by train. This place, if you're not familiar with SF is called "the tenderloin" it is close to The Mission where they give free food to the homeless, so keep in mind that there are high volume of that type near by, mostly harmless. The entrance is in a back alley which made it hard for the uber drivers to find so another tip would be to use the front address to the "Oriental Restaurant.." Like I said in the beginning I am from the city so all the nitty gritty didn't bother me because I was looking for the cheapest place closest to everything and that's exactly what I got. Check out Mr. Smiths in SoMa just around the corner from the place!!! It is a great local bar with dance music!
