We stayed at Rebecas cottage over the Christmas holidays and it was just wonderful. Exactly what we were looking for. The cottage is isolated yet in a very central location to do day trips. We spend most of our time by the fireplace or the stove which made the house so cozy. Rebecca left for us a basket of local food and vegetables that came very handy.
When we arrived we got lost but Rebeca was kind to pick us up from the closest village and show us or way to the cottage. Then we were left on our own to enjoy the house and the surroundings. Everything in the house worked perfectly well and we didn't have any practical issues.
While we were there we visited the petroglyphs, we went to the coast, we drove to Santiago and also made beautiful walks to the hill on the back of the cottage.
I can only strongly recommend Rebecca cottage and we hope we will be visiting again soon.
Our stay at Rebeca & Xiana's lovely house in the heart of Galicia was truly amazing! That was our first visit to Galicia (but now I'm sure that not the last one) and this house was exactly what we've been looking for - truly Galician, in the quiet village, on a big territory full of trees and flowers, with amazing views on the valley.
The equipment of the house included all what we needed and we, like other guests of this house, loved the manner in which it is decorated - it's very cozy and you feel yourself at home there. I wish I had such a feeling of style, but... in the next life, I hope :)
The house is rather remoted from the main roads (which was 100% benefit in our opinion) but close to all points of interests. During our 6-days stay we visited Santiago de Compostela 6 times (highly, highly recommended! Visit restaurant "Los sobrinos del padre" in the center of it to eat great pulpo a la gallega (octopus) - you'll love it!), A Coruna twice, northern Galicia twice (separately from A Coruna) - and it was amazing (visit Ezaro waterfall - during the summer it's not so overwhelming (lack of waters) but the way to it - please go there; I've been in 40 countries but I was impressed - it's like another planet). So - we travelled a lot and loved coming back to our cozy home (sweet home).
4 days away but I'm still missing the chickens. This wonderful girls were so friendly and smart ) Every day they came to our windows to ask for the fresh baguette ) And their fresh eggs on the next morning were highly appreciated by us :)
Rebeca was 100% effective during this stay, answering on all questions shortly and in a very friendly manner. Rebeca, muchisimas gracias! Fue fantastico!
We had a fantastic stay at Rebeca’s charming house in Armonda. We were spoilt with unbelievable weather every day, which accentuated the amazing view from the house as well as the colourful flowers blooming in the garden. As previous reviews have noted, Rebeca takes her role as an AirBnB host very seriously, and met us on arrival to give us a quick guided tour of the property as well as a few gifts (which tasted great)! As our Spanish is a little rusty, she even brought along a translator in the shape of Victor, who not only help on arrival but answered a variety of questions throughout our stay about the best things to do and see in Galicia. His advice was always well informed and helpful!!
The house itself is wonderfully cool in the day and if the temperature drops in the evening, lighting the wood burning stove or fire soon makes it extremely cosy. The old stone walls and quirky decorations make it feel very rustic and authentic. The pictures really don't do the garden and view justice, we spent every morning and evening on the veranda watching the sun rise/set over the far reaching wooded valleys.
The area surrounding the house suited our needs perfectly, from the well-stocked local supermarket Casa Tito, to the River Lerez which provides a great opportunity for a quick dip if it gets a little hot. Further afield is the famous Santiago de Compostela and Vigo’s Islas Cies, which is enough to keep you entertained for days on end.
In all, a wonderful property and a great base for anyone keen to explore the beautiful and green Galicia or the mountain kingdom of Asturias. A house that even Stoffel the honey badger wouldn't want to escape from!!!!
We visited the house for ten days as together with our three girls. The cottage is lovely indeed. Situated in a wonderfull countryside, with an amazing view over the valley. The area is really calm and the house reminded us in its rustic way to the old stone houses back home in southern switzerland. The house provides everything you can expect for a simple living in the countryside, beautiful sunsets and a visits from a lizard in the bathroom included :). The kitchen is simple and it takes some time, if you want to cook on the firestove. Rebeca's and Xiana's house and the garden has a very personal and charming look. Our youngest daughter loved to take care of the chickens.
We enjoyed the beauty of galicia, hiking and swimming at the riverside of rio lerez, surfing and sunbathing along the many beautiful beaches, and visiting Pontevedra and Vigo. If you like to be for yourself and don't mind driving for about 30 to 45 minutes, then it's a perfect place to explore the area.
Rebeca is a great host, we had a warm welcome, she was very helpful with everything and even mailed us some extra tipps for visiting in the area, translated in english by her daughter, since our spanish is so poor.
We had a great time an enjoyed it a lot and will keep unforgetable memories.
We spend a week at Rebeca and Xiana's magical house in Galicia. Perched on the edge of the small town of Armonda with an excellent view of rolling hillsides, the best part of our stay was watching the sun set from the front veranda over a glass of wine in the company of the charming chickens. The house is roomy and unique and full of interesting decor with thick stone walls and warm wood. We also had a friend stay for a few days in the cute guest studio next to the house, and he thoroughly enjoyed it. The wood stove in the kitchen was fun to cook on and the fireplace in the living room was perfect on one of the cooler nights. From the house, which is definitely off the beaten track, we were able to easily explore the area... beaches, hikes through the small villages, towns of Pontevedra, Islas Cies, and Santiago de Compostela. Communication with Rebeca and her family who showed us the house was prompt and easy, Rebeca gave us excellent recommendations for the area and we arrived to a wonderful basket of local produce to welcome us in the kitchen. A very special place, we hope to return in the future!
Totalmente recomendable.
Rebeca's cottage is a beautiful home on a rolling green property with views across to other Galician stone farmhouses and fincas. We stayed here with our 10 month old baby who loved exploring the garden and feeding the chickens. The cottage and surrounding towns and countryside fulfilled our search for an authentic rural escape off the tourist track. We arrived in mist but the weather cleared to some beautiful sunny days which we spent eating leisurely lunches on the porch amongst the flowers with the chickens clucking about. Falling asleep in the armchairs while reading in front of the fire was another highlight. Rebeca is the warmest host I have ever encountered through airbnb. She is extremely generous and takes hosting very seriously.
Rebeca's house is wonderful - cozy and beautifully decorated. We went at a difficult time of year, when it was rainy and cold, but we knew what we were getting into, in large part because Rebeca was completely open and honest about what to expect. We stayed for a month, so inevitably there were some mishaps, but she was always available and very helpful. This is the place to go if you want a true country experience. In winter, you'll work for it - constantly fueling two fires to stay warm. We loved that part of it, although it can get tiring. In summer, I can imagine it's much more easily relaxing and wonderful.
Amazing! I can really recommend Rebecas House. Although hard to find, the house is beautiful as well as the surrounding nature. Rebeca really has a view for details, which made our stay at Armonda to our favorite. Nevertheless, Rebeca and her doughter had to wait for us almost until midnight, they were so friendly and lovely! They offered us some fruits, cold beer and chocolate.
Again and again: Thanks a lot!!!

Everything about this place is magical, the house is delightful as are Rebecca and her family, the run in the hills directly behind the house with views out over the sea is fantastic. Sunsets over the hills with a glass of wine and fantastic night skies are all part of the deal! And the hens' company generously giving us their warm eggs was very much appreciated. We will very definitely return and very much recommend this magical place .
A tip to help you find it is to use the free google map app, from nearby campo lameiro it will take you directly to Armonda, not so easy to finf otherwise but SO worth it when you do!
Mil gracias Rebecca.
Un lugar 100% magico Rebeca y familia encantadora, la casa preciosa y la region tambien, 100% recomendable.
Great guest! Always welcome back to stay!
I am sorry I did not get to meet Rebeca and her husband in person. They were wonderful guests, and left the house in impeccable condition. They were pleasantly communicative, I enjoyed our brief conversation over the phone. They are welcome back any time. I highly recommend them.
They were great and we hope to see them again soon.
