I am Australian, 45, a musician (singer/songwritier) and storyteller, currently doing arts research at Curtin University in order to gain my PhD. My upcoming trip to Europe will include time in Prague, Berlin, and Italy. I am going to Prague for a storytelling conference, which excites me as I've never been there before; Berlin to say "hi" to some friends, and because I think it's a fabulous city; and Italy to both reconnect with a place I felt as a spiritual home when I was last there, and to do some writing for my PhD in a beautiful place. I hope to write the first draft of my final performance for my PhD research: a one woman show involving singing and storytelling around a myth from Ancient Sumer (present day Iraq). I also will spend time walking, and sight seeing on my days off and after hours. At home in Perth, I work as a singing teacher and music therapist in addition to my studies.
In addition to English I do speak "get by" French, German and Italian, and love to try to communicate in those languages. I don't feel I speak them well enough to say I speak them in the language information below.
