I'm a producer and a filmmaker and I live in Brooklyn.
I like wine and cheese and coffee and dogs.
I want to travel the world, meet its people, eat its food and drink its alcohol.
I've stayed here before and had a great experience. This time was no different. Mike and his mates are very easy to stay with. I've found that my buddy who I travel with snores....loudly. Mike let us adjust our rate and use the living room for sleeping. This saved the day and allowed me to get some decent shut eye.
I highly recommend that if you stay in Brooklyn you consider the Yellow Room.
Had a fantastic stay at the Yellow Room in Carroll Gardens. Mike and Alli were both extremely friendly and the place was super clean, welcoming and comfortable. Close access to the trains which gets you all over the 5 Burroughs easily. Definitely loved the neighborhood and all the restaurants and bars it had to offer. Definitely would consider staying again in the future!
Mike was a very helpful host and was always happy to give his advice. The room is in a great location, near shops, trains etc and everything we needed was provided.
We felt very welcome staying in the yellow room!
Mike and his roommate were more than accomodating. This was my friend and my first experience with airbnb and we were most definitely more than pleased! The location is great, 2 blocks walking distance from adorable shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars. Also a 2 block walk from the F train to get anywhere in the city. I 100% recommend the Yellow Room in Carroll Gardens!
My stay at the yellow room in Carroll Gardens was excellent. As other reviewers have already mentioned, Mike is really a great host. He's extremely accommodating and I had some great conversations with him. The room is super comfy and is exactly as advertised. The subway walk is less than 5 minutes and will get you into Manhattan in about 15 minutes. Also, getting around to other parts of Brooklyn (Clinton Hill, Williamsburg, etc.) is easily accessible by the G train. I strongly recommend.
Mike was the perfect host. The room was very comfortable, clean, and cozy. The house was beautiful, fun, and clean. We had a perfect stay.
Everything was as Mike advertises it. The bed was very comfortable and Mike was helpful. We were able to use the kitchen for some cooking--a benefit that was very much appreciated. This was our first opportunity to share an apartment with others. Based on this experience we'd do it again. Mike's apartment was in a perfect location for our needs.
It doesn't get any easier than this. The Yellow Room is very nice and it felt like I was going home each day. The apartment has a lot of space (by any standard) let alone for Brooklyn, NY. Mike was out of town for this trip, but his roommate and girlfriend were more than hospitable. I really enjoyed getting to know them and they made it feel like home.
You are provided with subway maps and an extra set of keys (if needed). They even let me sleep on the couch in the living room since my roommate was snoring so badly I couldn't sleep in the same room.
Overall, the place has a great vibe, great people and couldn't be better It looks like I will have multiple trips back to NYC and this will be my first choice.
This was truly a great experience. Mike is just so easy to be around. I never felt uncomfortable coming and going from this shared space. There was a happy energy the whole time. I loved the neighborhood. I would totally stay again. Thanks Mike!
Mike was a wonderful and helpful host! The room was well prepared and clean. Even he was not around. He would make sure we got in to the apartment. He was really nice to us during our stay.
Mike was a great guest! Clean and courteous and was fun to chat with.
Good luck with your travels Mike!
Mike was an ideal guest - we would be happy to host him again!

Polite and nice guest , was a pleasure meet Mike, hope he enjoy the town and the apt, also we share some minute of Earthquake one of the morning he was here....
well no problem to recommend him as a perfect guest for all friends of airbnb.
It was great hosting Mike, he was a great communicator and very respectful with my flat. They will always be welcomed to come back.
Mike was great. Stayed for three nights in my private studio and I had absolutely no problems with him. Place looked great when I returned. Highly recommended.
Michael is a good friend. He is fun and laid-back, but also responsible and capable. His apartment is really nice. You will enjoy it.
I crashed with Mike for a month before the days of Airbnb -- he's great! Funny, clean, makes good coffee, etc.
Mike and I did improv together back in college, and he was ever the consummate host in his shockingly immaculate (especially for 4 college guys) Georgetown townhome, which was the site of zero parties or loud noises or inconveniences to his crotchety old neighbor but many pleasant evenings of responsible barely-of-age wine-drinking and socializing. In the years since, he has always graciously hosted me upon my impromptu visits to Brooklyn. Hanging out with Mike is always good, clean fun -- with emphasis on the fun. The only caveat is that no matter what you bring into his home, your bags are likely to be a little heavier upon your departure -- because you'll have made a new friend. (Awwww!) Seriously, Mike is a stand-up guy. But not a guy who does stand-up, which is a little confusing, because he's an actor who works with professional comedians. Rather, he likes standing. Etymologically speaking, I'm not sure if a stand-up guy is a guy who stands up when a lady stands, and is thus gentlemanly and well-mannered, or if it's a guy who stands up to defend his friends from knaves and villains, and is thus loyal and brave. Yet it matters not, for Mike is all of these things. Plus he's hilarious. And kinda famous.
