Baby, it's cold outside...! But we stayed toasty warm in this little cabin. Frankfort had a festival going on (love this little town - they come up with some great festivals!), but we stayed holed up most of the time by choice - and this was the perfect spot to do it on a cold weekend. We enjoyed total peace and comfort, with a little side of exploring some of the best Michigan has to offer.
Our hosts were called away unexpectedly, so we weren't able to meet in person. Yet they still managed to take great care of us from afar, making us feel like we were extended family members (the good kind, LOL.)
Carol and Husband: Thank you! What a treat our weekend was. You're doing a great job, and we will be back!
Response from Carol:
Bridgett and Jessie were fantabulous guests who are always welcome back! Thanks again for the kind words and we hope to see you again soon!
We had a wonderful stay at Carol's cabin. It was toasty warm and had everything we needed for our stay.
We had a wonderful time at Carol's Cabin. It was great to find a dog and wallet friendly place that is so close to the Dunes and Traverse City. We didn't have any issues with the road being relatively close as some reviewers mention.
Clean, comfortable and enjoyable. Highly recommended.
Great place to stay and a great gateway to Leelanau. We've spent a lot of time "Up North" in this area, and the time of year we stayed is usually pretty expensive. The price here is great. The place has got everything you need for a comfortable stay. It's a very short drive to downtown Frankfort and grocery stores / restaurants / bars. It is small, but fit our family of 3 (1 a 6-week old) plus giant dog just fine. I'm quite tall (6'5") and did hit my head probably half a dozen times, but not really a big deal. I'm used to it! Overall, we'd definitely stay here again. Carol was very friendly and the location and price are great.
My boyfriend and I had a great time at Carol and Harold's cabin. As others have said, it was cute, cozy and had everything we needed for the trip. It was nice to return somewhere that felt more like a home than a hotel room after our day trips.
The only downside was its location near the highway. The noise isn't bad at night, when traffic slows down, but if you like to go to bed early or want to nap during the day, definitely bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. I didn't think it was too bad, but my boyfriend felt differently.
Despite that though, we would definitely book again!
While Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes are nearby, don't discount Frankfort, which has a great downtown and brewery.
My daughter and I brought our yorkiepoo and stayed in Carols Cabin four days. The cabin had everything we needed, was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect, near town but still far enough away tucked into the woods for a private camp feeling. Carol and Harold were very nice and there were no communication problems, I would absolutely stay here again and recommend it for future guests.
We had a great visit. The cabin was very clean and tidy. We appreciated the fruit, bagels, and real butter left for us when we arrived.
The cabin was in a good location to get to so many things in the area. Hope to make it back another time.
Carol's place was great! The location was perfect, bagels, and fruit was a nice treat, fire pit was lovely! We loved being able to bring our pooch as well! We would definitely stay here again if it was available for another weekend away!
I had a great stay at the cabin. It was close to the wedding I was a part of and it was nice to have a little fridge and stove to make some food and not have to go out to eat every meal. I really appreciated the fire pit that was available as well. If I was back in the area, I would come back and stay in a heartbeat.
Carol and Harold were great hosts. The cabin is in a great location relative to downtown Frankfort and was very comfy. Ideal for relaxing evening after a day of exploring and traveling about northern Michigan.
