Bonjour and welcome. I will make sure that you feel comfortable and have a wonderful stay in Paris !
I don't want to start on a bad note, but the bed was really itchy. Being from NY, the slight thought of bed bugs freaks us out. I tried reaching out to Cryille via air bnb to request a refund so that I could stay somewhere else. He usually responds the same day through air bnb, but this time, it took 5 days, well after our trip was over. I should have called him, but since I never had problems reaching him that way before, I didn't think it would be an issue. Not really sure why the bed was so itchy (dont think it was bed bugs), but we got used to it and stayed the rest of the trip (didn't really have a choice anyway).
If you can get over the itchy (not to mention hard) bed, the apartment itself was exactly like the pictures. Nice, bright, big, and mostly clean. My husband and I loved the look and feel of the place. It could probably fit 4 comfortably (not sure if the couch pulls out).
As an airbnb host myself, it would have been nice if they provided a little more. The biggest thing that bugged me (besides the bed) was that they only gave us two towels. I accidentally put my towel on the heater (dumbly thinking it was a towel warmer) and it was completely dusty! luckily my husband was kind enough to switch towels with me. It would have been nice if they gave us more so we didn't have to do that. You never know if your towel will get dirty and you dont have the option to wash and dry it in time. Also, as a host, I provided my guests with info about the neighborhood (favorite spots, closest metro, etc) and toiletries. All optional, but would have been a nice perk.
As for the neighborhood, it's nice but not really a great spot for first time tourists. Really close to the metro, which was great, but at least a 45min walk to the big tourist spots. Also completely dead after 10pm, which is kind of creepy. I would recommend you stay there if you want that true local feel and you have a travel buddy.
If we had the chance, we wouldn't mind staying there again. Overall a good spot. I think we would just stay a little closer to the center of Paris.
cyrille and caroline's apartment was perfect for our week in Paris. it was exactly as described plus some, and perfectly located. having previously stayed in the Bastille it was that and more _ so fabulous to wake up and walk out to the market in the street and what seemed to be Parisians going about their business - rather than just the tourist meccas of Bastille or St Germain. Yet still so accessible to everywhere. And the apartment itself was perfect - quiet, well-equipped - we couldn't have asked for more. we would definitely like to stay at cyrille and caroline's apartment again if it were available, and highly recommend it to others.
Cyrille & Caroline's apartment was everything they promised. Situated centrally in a very interesting neighborhood, close to shops, metro and an excellent market place. Even though the neighborhood is lively, the apartment is very quiet. It is very comfortable and clean, very warm and welcoming.
We met Cyrille, who was very friendly, and flexible about check-in and check-out times. We enjoyed our stay a lot and can recommend this apartment to everybody.
Cyrille and Carolines flat is exactly as it looks in the photo's and was perfect for my 5 night stay in Paris. Situated in a vibrant area in the Bastille, the apartment oozes Parisienne charm. Light and airy and spotlessly clean, I'd highly recommend it and would definitely stay there again.
Cyrille and Caroline were both really helpful and made the whole process really easy and made my first airbnb experience a very positive one.
Loved waking up every to the Marche D'Aligre! Such a wonderful and convenient location, cozy apartment, and attentive hosts. Thank you Cyrille & Caroline for making Paris glow!
Thank you Cyrille and Caroline for leaving the apartment in a very clean condition!
Cyrille and Caroline are really nice couple!
It was a pleasure to host them, really friendly, comunicative, hope to host them again!
