I'm a foreign service officer with the Canadian government currently posted in Washington, DC. I'm one of the lucky few people in this world who gets to have his/her dream job. I get to travel to interesting places and meet interesting people and work on interesting issues. I grew up in Calgary and went to university and have lived in a few other cities since then. I spent my 20s mostly traveling abroad (teaching English in South Korea was a great way to do that!) and trying out different things before finding myself in the diplomatic corps.
My wife and I have been using Airbnb for a couple years. She's the same age and is also a foreign service officer. When we travel we like to find great pubs, go on interesting walks and drives, and just sort of let each day take us where it takes us. We've used Airbnb in Argentina, Ireland, Sweden, Denmark, and NYC, and have never had a bad experience.
