I'm a visual artist living between Montreal and my studio in Cowansville, Quebec. Enjoy the stay!
Super appartement dans un quartier très sympa. Très propre et tout équipé. Rien à dire appart, "super".
Jonathan is very accommodating and easy to get along with. The apartment is lovely and in a great location to get around the city. I would absolutely recommend staying here, especially if you come while the weather is nice because there are two balconies.
Jonathan and Patrick were very kind and accommodating. This spacious bright apparrtment is in a great location for restaurants and fun and also near Parc bus. Definitely would stay again.
Great Stay! Thanks to Patrick and Jonathan for everything. Its a great apartment in a great area. Transit is easy and everything you need is in walking distance.
Jonathan has created a warm and inviting space in Montreal. He is very easy to get in contact with, and is friendly, knowledgable, and accommodating. While we were there, Jonathan was out of town, so we only interacted with his friend, Patrick, who was also extremely helpful, attentive, and kind. Patrick met us at the apartment when our train rolled in to Montreal's central station. Patrick let us in and showed us the space. When we were leaving, Patrick even suggested a cab company and gave us the number. There is a helpful sheet of logistical information and dining and sight suggestions in the apartment, and we were glad to have such a concise and helpful guide.
The space itself is decorated quite nicely. It sort of reminds me of a grandmother's home (not in a bad way), with older pieces and interesting details. I think another reviewer described it as "thrift store chic" which I would definitely agree with. We loved the dinosaur details throughout the apartment - what a fun touch. Keep in mind that the space accommodates 3 but with one single bed and one double bed. Beds were comfortable and clean and suited our needs perfectly after long days of exploring Montreal. We appreciated that towels were clean and some toiletry items were provided.
The location (Mile End) is extremely quiet and felt very safe when we were there. Jonathan lists many fun restaurants and bars (we loved Nouveau Palais and the Royal Phoenix - what fun!) among others. We wish we could have tried the restaurant downstairs, but we never made it there.
We didn't figure out or look up the bus system while we were there, but we did make great use of the metro which we found very convenient. This listing is fairly close to 2 metro stations (Rosemont and Outremont) but we ended up using Outremont because to get to the Rosemont station you have to take a bunch of stairs up to a highway sidewalk. Sights we enjoyed: St. Joseph's Oratory, Hotel de Ville, Basilica Notre Dame, St. Viateur Bagels, and La Banquise for poutine. I am currently dreaming of all the poutine I had in Montreal.
The only drawback to this listing I can see would be for people with mobility issues. The stairs up to the apartment are quite steep, so if you have problems with stairs, you might want to consider a different listing or just be aware. Other than that, it was great, and I would definitely recommend this listing and stay here again.
Jonathan's apartment was very quirky and funky! He had a lot of interesting knick knacks to look at, a great record player and vinyl selection, and a Jenga game that we had a lot of fun with with our son. The local was great and quite central to some cool spots. Would definitely stay here again.
Everything was great!
Jonathan's place is great. It's spacious, clean and in a amazing location. Transit is really close, or you can spend your whole visit just walking around the neighbourhood and have a great time. I would definitely stay here again!
Appartement un peu modeste à première vue (un peu pauvre en matériel de cuisine, quelques petits trucs à raccomoder ici ou là) mais non sans un certain charme qui se diffuse au fil des jours... très Bohemian style, parfait pour Mile End!
My friends and I stayed at Jonathan's apartment over a weekend and had a great time. Te place was very clean and spacious, there was a great record collection, and the restaurant downstairs was awesome. Jonathan and his friend Patrick (who let us in) were very helpful - the list of things to do/places to eat and go out in the area were a nice touch.
I have lived with Jo for a year and a half and known him for many more years than that and he knows how to make a place cute and make a guest feel welcome. You will not find a warmer welcome than this in Montreal!
I am Jonathan’s Mom and I approve of this listing. He’s a good boy/man/artist and the place will be shipshape. I love, love, love his Mile End neighborhood, and have enjoyed nutritiously delicious lunches with Jo at La Lumiere downstairs. The Dep, which is next to La Lumiere is a great place to sip lattes and write, or check your email. There are lots of arty one-of-a-kind shops and cafes nearby, and if you like to bike, grab a Bixi and check out Montreal’s amazing network of bike trails. I love Montreal and I love Jo. Enjoy!
Having lived in this Mile End gem I can attest to the fact that you will get the full-on Mile End experience staying at this place. It's in the heart of this wonderful neighbourhood surrounded by great cafes, book stores and restaurants. Jonathan was an excellent room mate, and always kept the place in tip top shape. You will have a lovely stay at his cute little home. Oh and he's also a really great artist.
I've been a friend of Jonathan for 5 years and he's always kept a really slick looking apartment. He's also a really nice and accommodating person. You should book this place if you can!
