Love to travel, don't love hotels. My last vacation included a trip to Mendoza, Argentina, where I sampled local malbecs, hiked, picnicked and rappelled in the foothills of the Andes, and ate a delicious world-class meal in a secret restaurant run out of a local chef's 4th floor apartment; all while based out of an amazing & affordable house just outside of the Mendoza city center.
As far as domestic trips go, I've really loved the time I've spent hanging out in the following cities/neighborhoods: Seattle (Ballard, Capitol Hill), Austin, Chicago (Wicker Park/Bucktown, Chinatown), Atlanta (East Atlanta Village, Cabbagetown), Minneapolis, Philadelphia, New Orleans (Uptown, Marigny), San Francisco. I like to eat well when I travel. If there's an opportunity to see good live music, I'll jump on it. Neighborhoods/destinations outside of high-density tourist zones are ALWAYS preferred. Basically just looking to get a feel for each place I visit.
Airbnb is exciting to me because it's an opportunity to truly experience my vacation destination, rather than just stopping in. Please do let me know if I can provide any additional information to show you what I'm all about as a guest.
