I am originally from Pittsfield, MA but have lived in Ann Arbor for 25 years. I work at the Metro Parks as an internal auditor which gives me access to the outdoors, which I totally love.
Lois was a wonderful host!!! She was very hospitable all weekend long and even drove us into town. Would love to come back!
What a delightful host and nice clean accommodation. Lois went out of her way to ensure we were comfortable. I would recommend This accommodation to any peeps lolling for simple clean accommodation in a comfy home feel.
This was my first time using Airbnb and was very happy with my experience. As a hostess, Lois was fantastic. Very friendly and willing to make us comfortable. We were busy during our stay but when we did bump into Lois, it was like chatting with an long time neighbor. We were grateful that she was so accommodating yet at the same time giving us our personal space.
The location itself is great. Its about 10 minute drive to get to down town Ann Arbor but you are close to a number of store and food places on Carpenter Road (about 2 minute drive). Her house is in a nice quite street and has a beautiful back yard with some chairs and a small lawn kids can play on. If we weren't so busy, I would have loved to relax in the back yard.
We stayed in her fully furnished basement which is more spacious than the pictures show. Bedroom is nice too. Very clean and comfortable. Entrance to the basement is down a small staircase right at where you enter the house which is nice but there is nothing like a separating door between the basement and upstairs. Never the less it is still very private and as a lot of room to use to unwind. The basement in summer is cool which was great coming in from the hot weather. There is a small tv as well - its not an hdtv flat screen but it does get most basic cable channels and more importantly the channels come in clear. A good wifi connection is available for use. Lois also allows use of the washer and dryer that is in a room in the basement. You can barely hear it when its on it is great to have with kids. The bathroom is nice and clean with a tub but it is located upstairs. It is a minor inconvenience but manageable one when considering all the pro to this property.
This is a real value, being able to stay in a very comfortable nice house with an incredible host. It was what I hoped to get out of airbnb and I highly recommend this location.
Lois is very sweet and I rested comfortably at her house. I stayed in her basement which is much more spacious in person. It is only a 10 minute drive to U of Ms school of nursing or UMHS. I plan on staying often throughout my last semester of school and I am thankful for Lois for opening her home to me.
Lived up to its billing as Ann Arbor's best!
We spent a really comfortable couple of days here, Lois was very friendly and welcoming, and the place itself was a huge private basement area with plenty of beds, futons, and even a wood fire. It was out in the suburbs, but worth it for the extra comfort!
This was a nice place to stay and very easy to find. The hostess was friendly and very accomadating. We had enough room for 4 people with two in the bed, one on the pullout and one on the blow up mattress. I would reccomend staying here if you have the chance.
