I enjoyed my stay in Adam's apartment very much. Great location, and easy to find. I felt very 'at home' and comfortable as well. Keeping in contact with Adam was also very easy. He responded very quickly, to any queries I had. Thanks Adam :)
I strongly regret making my decision in booking this apartment. I made
contact with Adam and we agreed on a price and time for which I would have the flat, however he was very poor with following up with any help I
needed. I was provided with the address but was not provided any clear
instructions on the logistics of how to get there. I proceeded to ask him
questions through messages but he never replied.
Furthermore, after managing to find the apartment after half an hour of
wandering around the area, I wasn't even able to get in! I tried the door
code he provided and it did not work (I wasn't even sure on how to use it
because he never provided adequate instructions on how to get in). I
proceeded to contact him through the number he provided in his profile but it did not even connect. I eventually had to find alternate accommodation elsewhere, which was a severe annoyance. Adam is very poor at responding to his messages, especially after having taken my money. I basically paid for a service that I was never able to use.
Coming from a fellow Australian, I was strongly disappointed.
For anyone who is considering this place in the future and booking with
Adam, please keep in my mind my experience.
Adam did not give me an address or clear direction as where his apt was. He said he would send the photo but I never got it. I don't know why it was such a big deal to provide an address. It was the coldest day in Korea and I specifically asked Adam to give me an address because my nephew is picking me up from the airport. I never got the address until I spent one hour searching through buildings. When I finally found wifi and sent him a message that I am going to find another place, he sent me an address.
Adam's apartment had socks laying to dry, opened pots with food smelling in the refrigerator. I had to ask what wifi password was. Even then he was not sure which one. There was no extra towels and evens the towels hung seemed used to I ended up using my clean clothes as towels.
It was very clear that Adam was not ready to provide a residency for a guest to stay at his apartment. He should give more specific direction as how to open and close the locks too. I wish he declined saying stay next time because I had to cancel the following offer.
However, the location is in a great location, very close to Gangnam station. If he was prepared, it would have made a good stay because the building even had an elevator.
This is my only second time using airbnb and the first was great. But then with this visit, I am not sure if I would be using airbnb again.
I regret to say that my stay with Adam did not meet Airbnb's minimum quality standards regarding cleanliness and did not accurately reflect his listing.
On my way to Seoul, my host sent me an email saying he had forgotten I was coming and that he was out of the country. Luckily, he had already provided information regarding location and access codes. The house was advertised as 3 bedrooms, however, upon arrival I discovered there was only two. The house and my 'room' was dirty and messy with a bed that looked recently slept in. Several hours later, he arrived back explaining 'my room' was actually his and he would be sleeping on the couch in the adjacent open lounge. Thankfully, he provided clean sheets, pillows and tidied up my room, but did not attend to the bathroom, although there was a stack of clean towels. He had mentioned his maid would possibly clean, but this did not happen. There was no drinking water or toilet paper provided beyond the first day.
On a positive note, I found Adam to be pleasant, funny and offered helpful information regarding Seoul.
I feel an obligation to future guests to give an account that best reflects my experience both positive and negative. Had I known the state and nature of my accommodations( it was advertised as a luxury home), I would have booked another place.
Adam was a very kind, easygoing host and the apartment was beautiful and just as described! Highly recommended! =)
The apartment is a little hard to find the first time, so do print out a map! Best to exit Noksapyeong station, head north to the intersection and then head east until you hit the 7-11. From there it's about 200m and few turns.
Regret Adam has stayed only a night. He kept the room very clean. Always welcome
good guest...thank you...^^
