James are JoAnna (and Norman, the dog) are the best possible hosts that you can find in SF. They are super friendly, generous, and helpful, and they'll make your experience in SF even better. The room is great with awesome natural light, and the neighborhood is close to restaurants, shops, grocery stores, etc. Several bus lines run right outside of the apartment, so you can get wherever in the city that you want w/in minutes. I highly recommend this place--you will not find a better spot with better hosts in SF.
JoAnna and James are the most welcoming hosts I have met so far! The room is big and with lots of light; only down side and up side at the same time: it's in the city which means car/bus/trams noises but again this is the city, you are close to everything!
Overall an awesome experience!
Awesome home! The appartment is nicely decorated and very cozy. The area is perfectly calm, nice and exactly at the golden gate park. We watched movies together, shared food (they really know how to cook delicious dishes) and had interesting conversations. Still everyone had their private time when they wanted it.
Whether you love dogs or not, their Havanese is absolutely adorable, funny quiet and super clean.
I would always go back to these two (and a half) nice people who chose to live in San Fran!
I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay for my month in San Francisco. James and JoAnna were so friendly and welcoming and the room was very clean. I loved being just across the street from the park!
James and Joanna were the perfect hosts. This is by far the best Airbnb experience I've had. They were friendly, welcoming, and laid back. I was in a rush to leave on my last day and had forgotten a package on my bed. They promptly sent it to me once I told them about it. I would highly recommend them and will be staying with them if I ever make a trip back to SF.
I had such a great stay at James and JoAnna's house. They're both super friendly and helpful. They have a beautiful home, in a beautiful neighborhood. It's so close to the Golden Gate Park and The Science Center. It's also super close to public transportation, and really convenient to get to other parts of the city. The room is great, sunny, and private.
I stayed here for 12 day and I'd like to someday comeback and live in SF myself after my stay.
A really pleasant stay in a tidy clean house. James was very helpful in helping me get to where I needed to go and went out of his way to show me some of the sights. Thoroughly recommended
I stayed with this wonderful couple and their sweet pup for four days. The room was sunny, clean and tidy. The mattress is comfy. Wood floors. Funky and charming. James and Joanna are welcoming and friendly and respectful. They will help you find the right bus and make suggestions or leave you up to your own devices if you prefer. The location is great, right by the Golden Gate Park,,, northeast entrance. There's a cafe on the corner, plus several more options about 6 blocks away. Laundromat nearby. Whole Foods about 6 blks away. Other grocery options as well. Major bus stop on the corner. Ten minutes to Ocean beach to the west. Twenty minutes to town to the east. Norman the dog is a well-behaved fluffball. I recommend.
I spent a wonderful week with James and JoAnna at their perfectly located apartment. They are very warm and welcoming, and insisted that I make myself at home and that I not worry about tip-toeing around. They even made room in their kitchen cabinet for my own pantry space, and also room in the fridge just for me.
The apartment is in a safe and clean area, within walking distance of anything and everything you need. A 60-second walk leads you straight into Golden Gate Park and immediately to the Conservatory of Flowers! And a quick shortcut through the Rhododendron Dell takes you straight to the California Academy of Sciences, the de Young Museum, and the Japanese Tea Garden! It was so convenient that I went to GG Park every single day...!
Another 60-second walk takes you to the bus stop that I took many times to Market Street (Westfield Centre), the Embarcadero (hello, Ferry Building and great food!), and even Pier 39 (Aquarium of the Bay). Also a quick walk from the apartment is Velo Rouge cafe, Arguello Market, and more than one laundromat. Really, anything you want to see or do (or eat) is within walking distance or within walking distance to timely public transportation that will get you there!
The room itself was clean, the bed comfortable, and even though I'm a light sleeper, earplugs (which I always travel with) were enough to filter out whatever noises floated up from the street below. I slept just fine.
I must make special mention of Norman, James and JoAnna's perfectly sweet dog. I'm a total crazy-cat-lady-in-training cat lover (I have four cats), but I fell immediately in love with Norman. He's friendly, he hardly makes a peep, and if I left my bedroom door open, he would often visit me. He'd come in, and sit politely, looking at me with those immensely intelligent eyes, and if (and only if) I invited him up on the bed, he'd jump up, plop down, and go to sleep. He's adorable and it was so nice having him around...made it easier for me because I missed my cats so much.
I couldn't be happier with my experience, and I look forward to staying with all three (hi, Norman!) of them again!
Jo and James have been wonderful to me, made me feel very at home. the room is big and spacious, the neighborhood you can find everything as a supermarket very close, laundry facilities and a cafe and cozy all within a block of the apartment. and is also easy to catch the bus, just around the corner you have many option to various places of San Francisco
