RENTING ROOMS AND APTS IN THE CITY FOR OVER 3 YEARS.
Sonya was very nice and helpful ! Her appartment is very well located. Thank you Sonya, hope to see you soon !
Good basic room in a great location. I thought the unit could have been a little cleaner, but it was relatively comfortable and is a great place crash for a night or two.
The perfect location of the apartment, you can get to most places in manhattan walking, the apartment is very spacious and is very clean, I had no problems during my stay.
I had a problem at check-in, because when you arrive, there was no one waiting for me, so I could not enter, but it's understandable, because come 31 December tricky day in NY
It is a good choice to stay in New York.
Sonya was a great host, offering help in everything needed, and making sure everything was okay even when she was out of country. The apartment's location was also great - right next to the 40th st. Port Authority Bus Terminal (and subway) and 2 blocks from Times Square, but still quiet and calm.
The room was clean and equipped with a small fridge, and Sonya made sure everything will be in place when i arrived.
Thank you for the great time, Sonya!
The reservation was canceled the day before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The place was all I was looking for and expected: A comfortable bed and a good hot shower in a very central location. Though SonYa wasn´t around when I arrived I met her friend just the minute I got to the apartment and he handed me over the keys. Communication with SonYa was easy and friendly. Don´t expext fancy details or a great view, but I felt comfortable and safe. Internet was great, too.
I stayed six nights at Sonya's apartment in Manhattan - Sonya is a great host although I didn't meet with her as she was outside the city, but she texted me several times to ensure that all is fine.
It's a tiny room in a small and old apartment, very basic furniture but the location is perfect - it's just 5 to 10 min walking distance from most attractions in Manhattan including the marvelous Times Square.
Sonya was out of town so I can't say anything about the host. The place is not that comfortable, for the price I was expecting more, but the location is perfect. Just plan to spend most of your time out in the city!
Sonya was expecting us the day we arrived. She showed us the appartment and left us, so we had the appartment all for ourselves. She was very kind and willing to fix every necessity we had.
Location is awesome: 1 block to 42 st subway and 10 minutes to times square. Lots of restaurant, delis and even a pharmacy all of them in the very nearby. The apartment is ok if you just want a place to bath and go to sleep after being all day walking though Manhattan. It's in a 3rd floor, so you have to go trough 3 upstairs, but you get used to them after 2 or 3 days! Don't expect a 5 star appartment, I would say is a 2 or 3 stars. But again: if you are looking for a good location near times sq and you'll be outside most of the time, this is a good choice.
pros: sonya was nice, always around and very anxious to provide me with everything i needed. she let me stay in another room towards the backyard, for it was not as loud as the one to the street. strange thing, the room i actually booked wasn't even in the apartment i stayed in (https://www.airbnb.de/rooms/1219839). so i was a bit confused about that. apart from that the room is very central, times square is a 7 minutes walk, subway + central bus station is 4 minutes. lively neighborhood.
cons: it is still loud, even if you are not facing the street. air con and all that stuff producing a continuous hum, but i guess it is a general problem in nyc. towels were spotty and didn't smell freshly washed. my blanket had no sheets. yuck! bathroom was not really clean. in the shower it was not possible to get the right temperature. during the night the area doesn't feel convenient.
