Greg is a very positive guy and has the coolest backgammon board ever.
I stayed with Greg for about 3 weeks and had an absolute ball and really felt at home. The house is incredibly beautiful and he does a great job of keeping it in prime condition. I stayed in the loft bed which was a little scary to get into at times if you have a fear of heights but once you make it up the ladder it is well worth the journey. A SUPER comfy bed and there is also a couch and mini fridge included. It was easy to never leave. The kitchen is amazing for cooking in and has everything you need. Pilsen is a great neighborhood and a well kept secret in Chicago it would seem. Lots of great stuff within walking distance and I never felt unsafe or had any problems whatsoever, even in the dead of night. This room is an excellent deal and Greg and Puck made for excellent company -- I would recommend living with them in a heartbeat!
I sadly never got to meet Gregory as our schedules apparently clashed, but the other AirBnb guest staying at the house was lovely company! Gregory's apartment is bright, airy, clean, and filled with eccentric art and decoration - all up a very cozy and welcoming space. The bedroom I had was the one with a gap between the wall and roof but I felt 100% private in there and had no issues with sound at all. Oh, and the bed was probably the most comfy bed I have ever slept on in my AirBnb experience. The neighbourhood is also really cool and you're conveniently right next to the #8 bus which gets you uptown real quick. Thanks Gregory!
I stayed with Greg for two weeks and it was the perfect location while I was working downtown! The space was comfortable and within walking distance from local restaurants and easy to access public transportation.
One thing I'd recommend is that if you have packages delivered to you while you're staying at Greg's, make sure to have it delivered elsewhere, or include his name on the package. I had a package go missing during my stay, but no biggie! It happens. Otherwise, I had a great experience.
Superb experience. Greg is wonderful and quick to respond to your every whim, and the place is a beautiful, huge loft that is clean, comfortable and warm. Located in a cool, up and coming neighborhood, my stay in Chicago could not have been better thanks to Greg, Puck, and the other guests staying with me (cocktails and food at del toros around the corner, and if you are lucky, a late game of KDB with Greg and friends is a perfect way to unwind after a stressful week of work).
Stayed with Greg, Puck, and 2 other airbnb-ers for a week. Arrived on the eve of the polar vortex but the place was warm and Greg was very welcoming. I was in the room where the walls don't quite meet the ceiling but wasn't woken up once. Still, if you're a light sleeper you might want to stay in once of the other rooms. I'd definitely stay there again and have a Knock Down Bars rematch. Also, I was going between downtown and Greg's place everyday and did it all on a reliable public transport system.
Greg was a fantastic host! He and his dog Puck are both amazing company to chill with. He recommended several great places to eat in the area, and made a delicious breakfast one morning. He also is an excellent board game inventor who even took the time to teach me how to play backgammon (though I don't think he invented that one). The room itself was very comfortable and the whole place had a ton of character - I especially loved the huge paintings by his friends. I hope to see Greg again soon!
Thank you greg! Mr and my girlfriend spent four days in chicago and we stayed in greg house. he was very welcoming and friendly! Thanks to him we could enjoy relaxing in a peaceful and warm place everytime we came back from downtown chicago which is 20min from his place through the orange line to the loop. We strongly recommend anyone to be in touch with him if you are planning to visit chicago.
I had a great time staying with Greg! He and his dog Puck were very welcoming and friendly. I didn't really know anyone in Chicago, and Greg was a great buddy and introduced me to some of his friends and his awesome board game! The apartment is in a great location; it's really easy to get basically anywhere on public transit. All in all I has a wonderful stay.
Greg and Puck are very friendly, and the place is very comfortable - everything was good.
