I needed to find a room for a friend's wedding and Angie's turned out to be a great alternative to a hotel. Angie is a wonderful and interesting person who will make you feel very comfortable in her home. I enjoyed my experience tremendously and have already recommended her to others. This home will exceed your expectations.
Angie, Wilson, and Crystal are by far the best hosts ever! If I were able to stay with them forever, I would! My cousin and I arrived in the late afternoon and were greeted by Angie with cool mint towels and watermelon sorbet. Soon after, Angie helped us get settled and offered a plethora of options to make our stay in Wilmington memorable. She is familiar with all the local venues for shopping, dining, or entertainment. We opted for a tour of downtown Wilmington with dinner at Indochin, a Thai restaurant, followed by shopping at the Mayfaire. When we returned, Angie was waiting with fruit infused water. We got to share stories and play live music. I slept so comfortably and awoke for a nice run around the lake with Crystal. Later, we dined on Angie's healthy and delicious breakfast. I felt so welcomed and rejunvenated in this home. I highly recommend it to anyone. I am blessed to have met this beautiful family and stay with them.
Angie, Wilson, and Crystal were very welcoming and the perfect hosts. Checking in was a breeze and we were greeted with cool, mint infused towels on arrival...very refreshing after the long drive from Chapel Hill. Angie was very responsive beforehand by text / email, too. The house itself is amazing, situated in a beautifully landscaped gated community and overlooking a small lake with a glimpse of the ocean in the distance. Angie's healthy Asian breakfast is hands-down the best Airbnb breakfast I've ever had, and the fresh watermelon smoothie was the perfect start to the day. The room is comfortable, spacious, very private, and quiet. One of the air vents was rattling on the first night and kept me up (I'm not normally a light sleeper, but there you have it) - when I mentioned this to Angie the next day she and Wilson IMMEDIATELY fixed the problem...no questions asked. Angie and Wilson do keep the A/C turned down in the evening - so it tends to get a little warm in the bedroom (just a word of warning if you like to sleep with the room temperature set at 70). My only "complaint" is that the bed seemed to be a bit on the small side for two tall adults. I'm 6'1" and wound up with a foot or two through the railing at the foot of the bed :) Beyond that very minor point the room and home were spotless, quiet, and the perfect place to get away and relax. The location was perfect, and we were only a few minutes from downtown Wilminton, Wrightsville Beach, and a couple of "local" spots that Wilson told us about. Very highly recommended if you're looking for a place that's close to everything the area has to offer but want a place to avoid the crowds and noise.
Hands down a 5 star experience. Very elegant and roomy accommodations with a true feeling of welcoming hospitality designed into the house, room and perfected by the host family, this far exceeded my expectations. Angie and Wilson were wonderfully attentive and engaging with me and my two young kids the entire three days we were there. And that's even in the face of sweltering heat wave and preparing for their son's wedding the following weekend at their home.
And if that's not enough, they further achieved the impossible...even got my 10 yr old picky eater to try new foods!
What an incredible find!!! Angie and her family are the most amazing hosts. They live in an unbelievably beautiful neighborhood, and the house BLOWS YOUR MIND. It's not far from downtown Wilmington or the beach. The room and bathroom were clean, the bed was comfortable, and all of Angie's hospitality perks were great! (Fruit water, asian breakfasts, use of kitchen). The best part of the stay was getting to know Angie's gracious and kind family. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Wilmington!
Angie, Wilson and Crystal were amazing hosts! We connected deeply on many levels and shared some great stories and delicious food. The extra special touch for me was working with Crystal on a song she had written for her mom. Being a pro-muso i wanted to help her complete it which we did - a joyous experience all round!
If you think this place is too good to be true... well let me say empathically, it's true. The house is absolutely lovely and the surrounding land and pond is picturesque. But, the best part of our trip was meeting Angie and her family. Simply put... they are the salt of the earth.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay thanks to Angie's warm hospitality and wonderful home! The room makes for an exceptionally restful night. Definitely recommend!! Many thanks.
Easily the most stunning home I've ever stepped foot in! My girlfriend and I stayed with Angie for three days and we had an amazing time! She is very welcoming, thoughtful, and exceeded our expectations in every way. She even prepared a delicious Asian style breakfast each morning!
We really felt like part of the family. World class hostess!
Angie and her husband were an absolute delight to have as guests in my home. They were neat, tidy, friendly, courteous, respectful of my home and just such a pleasure to meet! I truly hope that they come back someday, as they will be welcomed with open arms and an open heart!
Out of hundreds of guests, this is the only bad review I've ever had. This is the rudest person I've ever had to deal with. Do not rent to this person, I think she may be unstable.
